In my experience by the time Men try reflexology it's usually because every other option has been explored. Some of my most successful responses have been male clients. Why wait to get the treatment you need book in and start getting back to you.

I love my chosen career, it really is a dream to do what you love every day and the changes as a reflexologist it makes. The support is incredible and very much appreciated.

We often talk about how reflexology feels - calming, grounding, restorative.
But what’s happening underneath that?

A double-blind randomised controlled trial (the gold standard in research) looked at what happens in the body during a reflexology session.

Researchers measured real-time cardiovascular responses in healthy volunteers and found:
✔️ Immediate changes in haemodynamics (how blood flows through the body)
✔️ A measurable effect on cardiac function, specifically the cardiac index
✔️ Effects observed during targeted reflexology on foot areas linked to the heart

In simple terms?
This wasn’t just “feeling relaxed” — the body showed objective, physiological changes in real time.

It’s a powerful reminder that touch therapies like reflexology can have measurable impacts beyond relaxation alone.

Niggling shoulder, tension in your back, tired legs, a sports therapist you can believe in. Limited spaces available

I have had an amazing first few weeks in my new Bourne location at Hidden Beauty on West Street where I have seen my existing clients who are happy to travel from Peterborough as well as welcoming new clients from the local area.
The good news is that I now have space to open my books to new clients, this will be on a first come first serve basis and I have space to take on 10 new clients. There will be a 20% discount for all new clients who book in for May.
I look forward to meeting my new local clients and helping with your aches and pains.

A healing response in reflexology refers to the body's natural re-balancing process, often manifesting as temporary physical or emotional reactions—known as a "healing crisis"—within 24-48 hours after treatment. Common reactions include improved sleep, fatigue, increased urination, or mild headaches as the body eliminates toxins.

Common Symptoms of a Healing Response
Reflexology is believed to activate the body's self-healing mechanisms, which can lead to a "cleansing" process.

Physical: Increased urination, frequent bowel movements, fatigue, headaches, dizziness, or skin eruptions.
Emotional: Emotional release, such as feelings of euphoria, sadness, or an "overwhelming desire to weep".
Positive: Deep relaxation, increased energy, improved sleep, and pain relief.

Understanding the "Healing Crisis"
A healing crisis is a temporary, short-term reaction (usually lasting 1-3 days) where symptoms may temporarily worsen before improving, indicating that toxins stored in tissues are being released.

When it occurs: Reactions often happen within 24-48 hours of the first session, or sometimes between the second and sixth sessions.
Why it happens: The body is releasing toxins at a faster rate than they can be eliminated.
Severity: Reactions are generally mild, though they vary depending on the individual's toxic load and health.

Recommendations Following a Session
To support the healing process and manage side effects.
Hydration: Drinking plenty of water to help flush out released toxins.
Rest: Allowing the body time to recover.
Avoid Stimulants: Reducing intake of alcohol, tea, and coffee.

Your body isn't against you, it carries the pain you never had the space to feel, suppressed emotion settles in the body as blocked energy, until you listen it will speak through pain, we don't heal the body, we heal the memory giving the nervous system space to calm.

Reflexology helps rebalance, calm and reset allowing your body to work for you.

Shoulders: holding the weight of expectations, carrying too much.
Spine: over carrying, feeling a lack of stability
Stomach: stress, emotional overload
Hips/pelvis: old emotional overload, tension, people pleasing
Legs: fear of moving forward, too many choices
Throat: blocked expression, censorship, fear of conflict
Heart: guarding the heart, sadness held in

The Seven Chakra Colours & Their Reflexology Meanings

Red (Root/Base Chakra): Located at the base of the spine and extending to the feet, this colour represents grounding, security, and physical survival.

Orange (Sacral Chakra): Found in the lower abdomen (below the navel), it relates to emotions, creativity, and personal relationships.

Yellow (Solar Plexus Chakra): Located at the diaphragm area, this colour governs willpower, self-confidence, and motivation.

Green (Heart Chakra): Positioned at the centre of the chest, it signifies love, compassion, and emotional healing.

Blue (Throat Chakra): Representing the base of the throat, this colour is tied to communication, self-expression, and "finding your voice".

Indigo (Third Eye Chakra): Situated between the eyebrows, it relates to intuition, wisdom, and mental clarity.

Violet (Crown Chakra): Located at the top of the head, it represents spiritual connection and enlightenment.

Experiences During Treatment

Visualising Colours: It is common for clients in a deep state of relaxation to see specific colours. Some believe seeing a particular colour indicates a need for balancing in that corresponding area.

Energy Balancing: Practitioners often finish sessions by "balancing the chakras" to harmonise the body's energy flow and promote a sense of peacefulness.
