⚠️ Today, I created AI-generated “before and after” images in just a few seconds.
The scary part? At first glance, they look incredibly convincing.
As aesthetics practitioners, we’re seeing AI images being used more everyday. While AI has amazing uses, it also means it’s becoming easier for anyone to create fake treatment results and present them as their own work‼️
That should concern all of us.
Your face deserves more than clever marketing. It deserves honesty, skill, qualified experience and evidence.
🔎 How to distinguish if images are real, or AI generated:
✨ Are the before and after photos too identical? Look at the lighting, angles, facial expression, background.
✨ Do they regularly post videos of real patients? Videos are much harder to fake and give a better representation of genuine results.
✨ Are they transparent about their qualifications, training, and experience?
✨ Do they have genuine patient reviews that describe the treatment journey, not just the outcome?
✨ Are they happy to discuss realistic expectations instead of promising perfection?
This is hugely important to me, not only as a doctor, but as someone who has spent years building a reputation based on genuine patient results, honest advice, and ethical practice. The aesthetics industry in the UK is already hugely under regulated, and the rise of AI generated “social proof” has the potential to make an already challenging landscape even more concerning.
Patients deserve to know that the results they’re seeing are real, especially when making decisions about treatments that affect their health and appearance.
Don’t choose your injector based on the most impressive Instagram feed. Choose them based on trust, qualifications, safety, and consistently delivering real results.
