🏆🌟 AN OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT FOR ADAMSCOURT! 🌟🏆

We are incredibly proud to share some fantastic news…

Adamscourt Care Home has successfully passed its Gold Standards Framework reaccreditation – achieving an incredible 80 out of 82! 👏💛

This is a tremendous achievement for our entire team and reflects the dedication, compassion and high standards of care that they provide to our residents every single day.

The Gold Standards Framework (GSF) recognises excellence in person-centred care, particularly in ensuring people approaching the later stages of life receive compassionate, coordinated and individualised support that respects their wishes and enables them to live as well as possible.

Achieving 80 out of a possible 82 is something we are enormously proud of. 🌟

Behind that score is an incredible team of people who work tirelessly to ensure our residents are treated with dignity, kindness and respect, while supporting their individual choices, wishes and needs.

To every member of the Adamscourt team – CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉

This achievement belongs to all of you, and we couldn’t be prouder. 💛

And to our residents and their families, thank you for continuing to place your trust in us. Providing the very best care for the people who call Adamscourt home will always be at the heart of everything we do.

🎶💛 A Very Special Visit to Adamscourt 💛🎶

Before breaking up for the summer holidays, we were delighted to welcome children from one of our local schools to Adamscourt Care Home for a very special afternoon of singing. 🎤

Our residents absolutely loved listening to the children perform, and it was wonderful to see the smiles, conversations and laughter that followed.

Visits like these are so valuable for our residents. Bringing different generations together can help reduce feelings of isolation, encourage conversation and reminiscence, and create a wonderful sense of connection with our local community. Add the power of music into the mix and you have the perfect recipe for a very happy afternoon! 🎶❤️

We love creating opportunities for our residents to remain connected with the community around them, and we’re incredibly grateful to the children and their teachers for taking the time to visit us before their summer break.

Thank you for bringing so much joy to Adamscourt – we loved having you! 🌟

We hope you are all having a fantastic summer holiday and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon. ☀️

⚽🏆 Football Fun at Adamscourt! 🏆⚽

I think we’ve all enjoyed the excitement of the recent FIFA World Cup! Out residents have been getting into the sporting spirit with a football-inspired activity of their own!

Activities like this are a fantastic way to encourage gentle movement, improve coordination and balance, while most importantly bringing people together for plenty of fun and laughter. Football also sparks wonderful conversations, with many residents sharing memories of matches they have watched, teams they’ve supported and sporting moments they remember.

At Adamscourt, we love taking inspiration from national and international events, creating meaningful activities that keep residents active, engaged and connected to the world around them. 👏⚽

👑🍓 Celebrating The King’s Birthday at Adamscourt 🍓👑

Our residents recently came together to celebrate The King’s Birthday in true British style – with a delicious cream tea! ☕🍰

There was plenty of laughter, conversation and enjoyment as residents gathered to mark the occasion, sharing tasty treats and good company. Special celebrations such as these provide wonderful opportunities for residents to socialise, reminisce and create new memories together.

At Adamscourt, we love celebrating national events and special occasions, as they often spark fond memories and encourage meaningful conversations about past celebrations and traditions.

A traditional cream tea is always a favourite, and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying the festivities and coming together as a community.

Happy Birthday to His Majesty The King! 🇬🇧👑

☀️🍰 Tea in the Garden ☕🌸

There’s something truly special about enjoying a cup of tea in the sunshine, and that’s exactly what our residents have been doing in recent weeks at Adamscourt Care Home.

Spending time outdoors offers so many benefits, from boosting mood and wellbeing to encouraging gentle activity and meaningful social interaction. Our gardens provide the perfect setting for residents to relax, chat with friends, enjoy the fresh air and make the most of the beautiful weather.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have such lovely outdoor spaces for our residents to enjoy. Whether it’s a morning stroll, an afternoon tea, or simply sitting and watching the world go by, our gardens are a much-loved part of daily life at Adamscourt.

The smiles, conversations and laughter shared over a cup of tea remind us that it’s often the simple moments that bring the greatest joy. 💚

💧 Staying Hydrated in the Summer Heat 💧

With the recent warm weather over the last bank holiday, keeping hydrated has been a key focus at Adamscourt Care Home.

As we get older, it can become more difficult to recognise when we’re thirsty, which makes regular hydration especially important. Drinking enough fluids helps support energy levels, concentration, digestion, circulation and overall wellbeing, while also reducing the risk of dehydration-related illnesses.

Our team works hard to make hydration both enjoyable and accessible for residents. From offering refreshing cold drinks and fruit-infused water to providing ice lollies, fresh fruit and regular hydration stations throughout the day, we find creative ways to encourage everyone to drink little and often.

The photos below show some of the ways we’ve been helping residents stay cool, comfortable and hydrated during the hot weather. ☀️🍓🥤

At Adamscourt, we know that good hydration is about more than simply offering a drink – it’s about understanding each person’s preferences and making hydration a positive part of everyday life.

At Adamscourt Care Home, we know that arts and crafts are about so much more than simply making something beautiful 🎨✨

Creative activities can help support memory, encourage conversation, reduce anxiety, and give residents a wonderful sense of achievement and purpose. Most importantly, they bring people together, creating moments of laughter, connection and joy 💛

From painting and colouring to seasonal crafts and group projects, these sessions are always filled with creativity, smiles and plenty of fun. It’s lovely to see our residents expressing themselves, sharing stories and enjoying time together.

Here are a few photos from one of our recent arts and crafts activities — we think the results are fantastic! 👏

🌼Dementia Action Week

This week is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of what it’s like for people living with Dementia.

Adamscourt Care Home continues to stand out as one of the area’s leading specialist dementia care homes.

Located in the peaceful surroundings of Talbot Woods, our family-run home has been caring for residents for more than 30 years and has developed a reputation for providing highly personalised, compassionate dementia care.

Unlike many traditional residential homes, Adamscourt has been specifically designed around the needs of people living with dementia, with everything from staffing levels to activities and décor tailored to help residents feel calm, secure and supported.

One of the key reasons families choose Adamscourt is its specialist dementia expertise. Staff receive ongoing dementia training every year to ensure they remain up to date with the latest research, techniques and understanding of the condition. The home also supports relatives by offering dementia education to family members, helping them better understand the journey their loved one is experiencing.

Keep an eye out for Adamscourt Care Home in this week’s supplement in the The Bournemouth Echo for the full article on why Adamscourt is one of the leading homes for Dementia ❤️✨
