When we meet patients considering nose surgery, one of the most common questions we hear is: what’s is open and closed rhinoplasty? Here’s a simple explanation:

* Open rhinoplasty – A small incision is made between the nostrils, along with internal incisions. This allows the surgeon to lift the skin to have a clear view of the nasal structure, often needed for more complex reshaping.

* Closed rhinoplasty – All incisions are made inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scar. This approach can be suitable for less complex procedures and may mean a slightly quicker recovery.

Our surgeon will recommend the approach that’s most suitable for your needs.
