As some of you know, I had surgery in March which led to complications.
Being at the end of my medical transition and hitting complications has been one of the harder stretches I've dealt with. It's affected pretty much every part of my life for the last few months.
This morning I set off at 4am to see a new surgical team at a new hospital. I didn't feel rushed, I felt heard, and we now have a plan in place to get things fixed. It'll mean a minimum of three more operations, let's get it done.
Bodies don't build themselves, mine included. The surgeons can only do so much, the rest is down to me. Am I eating properly, am I training consistently, am I resting when I should, am I showing up for myself even when it would be easy to hit the f**k it button.
I've had to fight to be heard more than once through this, so I've learned to ask the right questions, chase the right people, and not just sit back and hope it sorts itself out. Tick the boxes, do the unglamorous stuff, trust the people you've built a plan with. One foot in front of the other. That's the job, mine and yours.
