🎨 Pretty Plates & Marvellous Mugs!

Creativity was on display at Chapters as our homeowners got stuck into a little mug and plate painting. ☕🎨

With plenty of imagination and individual flair, everyone created something completely unique. And, best of all, something they could take home and enjoy.

From colourful plates to wonderfully decorated mugs, it was a lovely afternoon of creativity, conversation and plenty of laughs along the way.

One mug even featured the music for ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’ and we think that’s a pretty perfect motto for life at Chapters! ☀️

Bank Holiday afternoons don’t get much better than a proper Cream Tea! ☀️🫖

Homemade scones, jam and plenty of cream were prepared by our wonderful volunteers, creating the perfect afternoon treat. 🍓

And, of course, no cream tea would be complete without the age-old debate… jam or cream first? 😂

The question sparked plenty of lively conversation around the table!

It was a lovely afternoon spent together, catching up with friends, enjoying good food and making the most of the Bank Holiday together.

Our latest Supper Club took homeowners on a culinary journey around the world, without having to leave Chapters! ✈️🍽️

Inspired by summer holidays, the evening’s ‘Round the World’ menu brought together delicious flavours from Italy, China and Mexico.

From Italian arancini, bruschetta and prosciutto with melon, to tempura vegetables and sticky Chinese pork belly, followed by churros and Tres Leches cake, there was something to tempt everyone. 🇮🇹🇨🇳🇲🇽

And, naturally, no holiday-inspired evening would be complete without a little fizz! 🥂

☀️ A summer party to remember! 🎸

The sun was shining, the music was playing and Chapters was in full party mode for our Summer Party! 🎶🍔

More than 80 homeowners came together in the Courtyard to enjoy a BBQ, drinks and live music from fantastic local seven-piece band Hotrocks.

From Oasis and The Killers to Nirvana and Pulp, there was something to get everyone singing along. And when it was time to hit the dance floor, the air-conditioned Bistro proved to be the perfect place to keep the party going! 💃🕺

With homeowners enjoying the entertainment, it was a brilliant example of what summer at Chapters is all about: good times, great entertainment and enjoying it all together. 💙

There was a touch of mystery in the air at Chapters as our homeowners donned their masks for a Venetian-inspired Murder Mystery evening. 🕵️‍♀️

With an intriguing cast of characters, plenty of clues to uncover and more than a few suspicious looks across the room, everyone got involved in trying to solve the mystery.

It was an evening filled with laughter, great company and some fantastic performances proving that our homeowners certainly know how to get into character!

And after plenty of twists and turns, the culprit was finally revealed… It was the Wolf!

Chapters is about so much more than simply where you live, from themed evenings and entertainment to the everyday moments shared with friends and neighbours, there’s always something happening and plenty of opportunities to be part of the community. ❤️

🌴 A little taste of the Caribbean at Chapters! 🍹🎶

Our homeowners came together for a fantastic Caribbean BBQ, enjoying jerk chicken, Caribbean fish and traditional BBQ favourites, alongside plenty of fresh summer salads. Dessert brought a tropical finish, with banana cake with rum and lime glaze or pineapple marinated in rum and coconut.

But Supper Club is about so much more than the food. It’s about coming together, sharing an evening with friends and neighbours, and enjoying everything that makes life at Chapters so special.

And this month, the atmosphere was taken up another notch by Leo and Evan from London’s True Steel Band. Their brilliant steel pan performance brought the sounds of the Caribbean to Chapters, with plenty of singing, dancing and tapping toes along the way!

It’s evenings like this that capture the spirit of our community; good food, great entertainment, new experiences and wonderful company, all right here at home.

Greater London is currently smashing it out of the park with an impressive 4,644 counts submitted so far, but Devon is hot on their heels!

This year, we decided to shake things up and asked you to ditch the clipboards and grab your cameras instead.

We’ve spotted a 'Jersey Tiger moth' and a 'Large White' butterfly so far. We know your gardens are buzzing with more winged visitors than we've seen, and we need your help to step up our gallery game with only 9 days to go!

The big butterfly count runs until Sunday 9th August, which means you still have plenty of time to get involved.

Here is your weekend mission:

1. Grab a cuppa, or something stronger. 🍷😆
2. Find a comfortable sunny spot in the garden or on your balcony. Or, why not make this a community activity... grab your neighbours and head down to the bistro for a drink (or two).
3. Sit back and wait for the wildlife to come to you.
4. Whip out your phone and get snapping. 📸🌸
