What an incredible day at our 12th Annual Learning Disability Tennis Tournament! 🎾☀️

Despite the blistering heat, 17 competitors took to the courts with fantastic determination, enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day.

A huge congratulations to all of our winners, and well done to every player who took part, you should all be incredibly proud of your achievements.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, coaches and spectators. Your support, encouragement and hard work helped make the event such a success.

We’re also very grateful to the Mayor of Bournemouth for attending and supporting the tournament, to Lewis & Faulkner Butchers for providing the delicious BBQ, and to Boscombe & Southbourne Rotary Club for generously sponsoring all of the trophies.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our 12th annual tournament another memorable celebration of inclusion, friendship and community through sport. We can’t wait to see you all again next year! 🎾🏆💙

☀️ HEATWAVE UPDATE ☀️

Following the change in weather warnings from Amber to Red and the forecast for extremely high temperatures, we have made the decision to cancel all group coaching sessions for the remainder of today and throughout tomorrow (25 June).

This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but the safety and wellbeing of our players, families and coaching team must come first.

We appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience, but we hope you understand our decision given the exceptional conditions. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on court as soon as temperatures return to safer levels.

Please stay safe, stay hydrated and keep cool. 💧☀️🎾

☀️🎾 What a Fantastic Club Championships Finals Day! 🎾☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Southbourne Tennis Club Championships Finals Day 2026.

We were treated to glorious sunshine, some outstanding tennis, and it was wonderful to see so many members, families, and friends at the club throughout the day. The atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish, making it a truly memorable celebration of our club and its community.

Congratulations to all of our finalists and champions for putting on such a great display of tennis, and thank you to everyone who supported from the sidelines, volunteered, helped with the BBQ, refreshments, kitchen, and all the activities that made the day such a success.

Attached are the final championship results, showcasing all of this year's finalists, runners-up, and club champions.

A special thank you to all of our volunteers who generously gave their time before, during, and after the event. Your hard work, commitment, and willingness to help are what make days like this possible and ensure Southbourne Tennis Club continues to thrive.

💃🕺 What a Night! Latin Dance Fiesta Success! 🥂✨
​Throwing it back a few weeks to our incredible Latin Dance Fiesta here at Southbourne Tennis Club!
​We swapped our tennis rackets for dancing shoes, and boy, did our community deliver.
It was absolutely fantastic to see so many members, families, and friends filling the clubhouse, bringing the energy, and coming together for an unforgettable night.
​From absolute beginners finding their rhythm to seasoned dancers showing us how it's done, everyone learned some fantastic new dance steps. More than the dancing, though, the camaraderie and laughter reminded us why Southbourne is more than just a tennis club—it’s a family.
​A massive thank you to everyone who came out, brought their best moves, and made the night such a hit. Keep those hips moving, and we’ll see you back on the courts (or the next dance floor) soon! 🎾🎉

🎾 Game, Set, Match: WE WON!
Big news, Southbourne! The 2026 Dorset County LTA Awards are in, and we’re bringing home the hardware. 🏆

Not only has Southbourne Tennis Club been named Club of the Year, but our legendary Dave Sanger scooped the Tennis Opened Up Award for making our favorite sport more inclusive than ever.

From our grassroots programs to our competitive leagues, this win belongs to every member who makes this club such a vibrant community. Dave’s dedication to opening up the courts for everyone is the icing on the cake!

🎾🧠 Game, Set… QUIZ! 🧠🎾

What a smashing night at the club for our Quiz Night! A big thank you to everyone who came along and served up some serious brain power.

🏆 Congratulations to The Underdogs, who aced the questions and rallied their way to victory to take the top spot! Clearly their knowledge was right on the line all evening.

A huge thank you to Carolyn and Stewart for organising such a grand slam of a night — they really set the tone for a brilliant evening.

And of course, a big shout out to Sams Fish Bar Christchurch for the fantastic fish and chips which were an absolute winner and definitely kept everyone fuelled for the final rounds! 🍟🐟

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a fun night. We love seeing the club come together like this — keep your eyes peeled for the next event!
