“Every inch of forward head posture increases spinal load by up to 50%.”

That comes from biomechanical and chiropractic studies often referencing Dr. Kenneth Hansraj’s work (2014, published in Surgical Technology International). He studied how much extra weight the cervical spine bears as the head moves forward from neutral.
• At 0° (neutral) → the head weighs about 10–12 lbs.
• At 15° tilt → the load is about 27 lbs.
• At 30° tilt → about 40 lbs.
• At 45° tilt → about 49 lbs.
• At 60° tilt → about 60 lbs.

So depending on the angle, the stress can indeed increase 50% or more for every inch/degree of forward head posture — which is why tech neck is such a big issue today.
