Stop Performing Stillness!
We’re often told that healing means sitting perfectly still, clearing the mind and relaxing.
But what if that’s exactly what some traumatised nervous systems can’t do?
In this video I explore why movement is fundamental to life itself. Every heartbeat, every breath and every thought depends on movement. Even the signals travelling through your brain rely on molecules moving from one neuron to the next.
When the nervous system has learned that movement is dangerous, healing may not come from suppressing movement even further. It may come from creating enough safety for natural movement to return.
In this video we explore:
* Why movement is central to biology
* Why stillness isn’t always regulating
* The difference between forced stillness and felt safety
* How spontaneous movement may reflect nervous system repair
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Has stillness helped you, or have you found that gentle movement was what your body needed?
