A few pics from the last week! Last weeks pirate adventure toddler group was a big hit with everyone. It is always so lovely to see the interaction between the residents and the children. It’s like they have been friends forever. We also had a few park walks, reminiscing and lots of other fun stuff. Never a dull moment 😀

Our taste of home event yesterday was such an amazing day celebrating Doreen’s wish to go back to the place she was born Australia. She has such fond memories of her childhood and the place she holds close to her heart so we had to try and bring a little bit of home to her. She chose the menu, a good old Aussie bbq surrounded by old friends, new friends, her family and her Bickerton family.
We can all see why she loves Australia so much it brings people together ❤️

Our monthly dog cafe on the first Wednesday of every month is becoming the place to be if you’re a four legged friend with a waggy tail 🐶. We are so grateful to everyone for coming and as you can see by the pictures the joy it brings to the residents is beautiful to see. I think the dogs enjoy the treats on tap as well 😃

We had a slight mishap with the entertainment for our Australian day on Saturday. Whilst waiting for our afternoon singer to start yesterday we thought we would let Wendy and Linda audition for the slot. When John stated “this isn’t the afternoons entertainment is it”? We think we got our answer 🙈
We aren’t sure they are hired for the Australian singing slot but we love their team spirit and their ability to keep us smiling everyday ❤️

Join us for our next free event. A taste of Australia. Doreen who lives at Bickerton house was born and grew up in Australia. When asked what her wish was it was to go back and visit home. Unfortunately we can’t get her back there but we can bring Australia to her. So this open day is all for Doreen, so we can make her feel a little bit of home. Please call the home to join us for BBQ and music and make Doreen’s taste of home as special as she is to us ❤️

Corrinna’s wish ⭐

We had discussed wishes with Corrinna a few times and she had said she was always really against tattoos but now she was older she really wanted to get one done to prove to herself she could do it and she wasn’t to old. Upon hearing that his mum wanted to get a tattoo her son was so shocked he also wanted to get one to match hers. Well that was all we needed and after much deliberation about what the tattoo would be and represent they both agreed on a hummingbird. Together they got their tattoo at Inkfusion in Wokingham and I have to say they were so good. Lee who done the tattoo was amazing as Corrinna was very nervous but adamant she was going to do it and she did. I was a very funny afternoon that none of us will forget in a long time and Corrinna was so very proud of herself for doing it. So much so she thinks she might now want another ❤️
