At Home Instead Ascot, Camberley, Wokingham we are proud to now have a Bra Bank in aid of Against Breast Cancer, and we need your help!

If you have any unwanted bras that are clean and in good condition, please bring them into the office and pop them in our Bra Bank.

Your unwanted bras can help raise vital funds and support those affected by breast cancer. This is a cause that is very close to our hearts 💗

So, have a clear-out and bring your bras to the office!

🌿 Another successful Mindful Mile at Royal Ascot Golf Club ! 🌿

It was lovely to see some familiar faces again, including Steve from Age UK Berkshire, the ladies from Healthwatch Windsor, Ascot & Maidenhead, and of course our regular walkers from Signature at Ascot.

Our Mindful Mile is a dementia-friendly and wheelchair-friendly walk, giving people the chance to enjoy some fresh air, gentle exercise and good company in a welcoming environment.

The little things mean the most 💚

For Sheila, spending time together has become especially important since losing her husband and feeling increasingly lonely.

Here, Lora, one of our wonderful care professionals is sharing a lovely meal with Sheila — something so simple, but so meaningful.

At Home Instead Ascot, Camberley & Wokingham, our companionship visits are about so much more than being there. It could be sitting down and having dinner together, heading out for a coffee or a little trip, enjoying a favourite hobby, or simply having someone there for a chat and a cup of tea.

Sometimes, it really is the little things that make the biggest difference.

Singing, dancing and plenty of smiles 💚🎶

There’s nothing quite like the power of music to bring people together!

At our latest Singing for the Brain session, one of our lovely ladies couldn’t resist joining in with a little line dancing while our wonderful Care Professional, Sandy, sang. It was such a joyful moment and a perfect reminder of how music can create connection, confidence and plenty of smiles.

We run Singing for the Brain every other Wednesday, bringing people together to enjoy music, singing and friendship in a warm and welcoming environment.

🍳🍓 Good nutrition matters at every age – especially as we get older! ❤️

We recently loved seeing this lovely fry-up with fresh fruit on the side that one of our care professionals prepared for their client. Because eating well doesn’t mean food has to be boring! 😋

As we get older, changes in appetite, mobility, confidence in the kitchen or simply not feeling like cooking can make it harder to eat well. That’s where our amazing care professionals can make such a difference.

They take the time to get to know each client – what they like, what they don’t like and what makes mealtimes enjoyable – and can help prepare food that is nutritious, tasty and exciting. 🥗🍲🍳

Whether it’s a favourite breakfast, a family recipe, a light lunch or a colourful plate of fresh fruit, we believe food should be something to look forward to.

And sometimes, you just can’t beat a good old-fashioned fry-up! 😉🍳

Our care professionals can support with shopping, meal preparation and companionship around mealtimes, helping clients to continue enjoying food in the comfort of their own home.

Meet Jen! 👋

Jen's journey with Home Instead began as a Care Professional, where she experienced first-hand the incredible difference compassionate, person-centred care makes to the lives of older adults.

Now, as our Community Engagement Officer, Jen works across Ascot, Camberley and Wokingham, building meaningful relationships within the community, supporting local events, and helping families discover the care and support available to them.

Her experience in care gives her a unique understanding of the challenges families face, making her passionate about connecting people with the right support at the right time.

Whether she's attending community events, working with local organisations, or raising awareness of our services, Jen is dedicated to helping older adults live independently at home while ensuring no one feels alone.

We're so proud to have Jen as part of our team! 💚

☀️ HOT, HOT, HOT! ⛳💦

Stephanie, our Business Development Manager, had a fantastic day at Royal Ascot Golf Club Members Day, where she hosted a hydration table to help keep everyone refreshed in the sunshine! 💧

Alongside plenty of water bottles, Stephanie was also sharing Jelly Drops – a great conversation starter around hydration and looking after ourselves, particularly as we get older.

It was lovely to have some really honest and meaningful conversations with members about the difficult discussions they’ve had with their families when the time comes to start thinking about care and support.

These conversations aren’t always easy, but having them early can make such a difference. At Home Instead Ascot, Camberley & Wokingham, we’re always here to help families navigate those sometimes difficult decisions and understand the options available. ❤️

A brilliant day, great conversations and definitely the perfect weather for a hydration station! ☀️💦
