Reminder that this is just my personal experience. What didn’t work for me might be exactly what someone else needs, and vice versa.
A little reminder too that healing doesn’t always look like any of these things. Sometimes it’s a conversation with a friend, a walk in nature, a supportive community, medication, faith, creativity, or simply getting through another day.
So please don’t take this as a checklist, or any sort of barometer for how many things you should be trying.
I’ve simply spent a lot of time trying to make sense of my own experiences (I’m fun like that 🙃) and work out how to move forward from them.
I’d also like to acknowledge the privilege of being able to access and explore different forms of support. Many people in previous generations certainly didn’t. So many people were, and still are, simply doing the best they can with what they have.
I don’t know the answer to this, but I do hope that by talking about these things more, it brings greater awareness to the different types of support that are out there.
I’d love to hear from you though.
What has helped you most on your own journey? ✨
