Don’t shoot the messenger 🦶🛑
Swipe ⬅️ on the graphic. Whether you are an Overpronator (collapsing inward) or an Oversupinator (rolling outward), your first instinct might be to “fix the feet.” New insoles, motion-control shoes, or a specific ankle stretch.
Common Pain Points ⚠️
If your feet aren’t planting correctly, the “vibration” of every step travels up the chain. You might be experiencing:
• Overpronation (The Inward Collapse): Chronic Plantar Fasciitis, “Shin Splints,” medial knee pain, and cramping calves.
• Oversupination (The Outward Roll): Frequent ankle sprains, IT Band Syndrome, lateral hip pain, and “tight” calves that never seem to let go.
Here is the truth: Fixing the feet alone won’t help.
That’s not how fascia works. Your body isn’t a collection of isolated parts; it is a continuous, tensioned web. When you see your arches dropping or your ankles rolling, you aren’t looking at a “foot problem”, you’re looking at an uncontrolled landing.
If your body lacks stability and activation higher up, your feet lose their anchor. They land uncontrolled simply because the tension that should be holding them in place has been disconnected.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to show you why the real culprit isn’t in your shoes. We’re working our way up the kinetic chain to the “support system” that ties your entire posture together.
