A Touching Thank You at Aegis Residential Care Home 🤍

At the end of July, our team at Aegis Residential Care Home received this beautiful basket of goodies. It was given to us by a family as a heartfelt thank you for everything we did for their wife, mother, and grandmother, who sadly passed away recently.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. Providing compassionate, dedicated care to our residents and comfort to their families is at the heart of everything we are here for.

Rhythm, Smiles & Paws: A Melody-Filled Day at Lister and Sherrington House! 🎵🐾

Yesterday was an absolute symphony of joy at Lister and Sherrington House Nursing Homes! 🎶

Our residents kicked off the day with an energetic Musical Morning, complete with maracas, jingle bell sticks, and tambourines. The atmosphere was electric, with everyone joining in to sing, play instruments, and dance along. Seeing the room light up with smiles was truly special!

The fun didn’t stop there. Later in the day, we welcomed Richard and his wonderful therapy dog, Honey, for a special visit. With Richard playing guitar and singing, and Honey showing off her playful charm, our residents were thoroughly entertained, singing along and sharing plenty of laughs. It was a resounding success, and everyone is already looking forward to their next visit! ❤️

Aegis Care Homes are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team at Lister House and Sherrington House Nursing Homes in Bradford.

This is an excellent opportunity to support our kitchen staff and ensure our residents enjoy high-quality dining in a safe, clean environment.

The Role at a Glance
- Position: Kitchen Porter
- Location: Lister & Sherrington House Nursing Homes, Bradford, West Yorkshire
- Hours: Minimum 20 hours per week

What You'll Be Doing
As a vital part of our kitchen team, you will:
- Assist the Chef with basic food preparation, such as peeling, plating, and making drinks.
- Maintain the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene (sanitising surfaces, washing cookware, and general tidiness).
- Manage deliveries and help with the efficient organisation of food storage.
- Collect in service items and ensure all crockery and utensils are washed correctly.
- Help with waste management procedures.
- Take direction from the Kitchen Chef to ensure a smooth, efficient service.

Rocky Finds a Home! Raising Funds for Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund 🧸

The team and residents at Lister & Sherrington House Nursing Homes recently came together to raise funds for the Lennox Children's Cancer Fund!

To help raise money, everyone had the chance to enter our 'Name the Teddy' competition. The winning name was Rocky, and we are thrilled to announce that Mat was our lucky winner! Pictured above are Mat's wife, Gillian, alongside our Activity Coordinator, Julie, accepting the prize.

Thanks to everyone's generosity, we raised £50 to support Lennox Children's Cancer Fund in their mission to raise awareness and support children fighting cancer and their families.
