☀️ Hot weather can be particularly challenging for older adults and those living with health conditions.
As temperatures rise across Bradford, Saltaire, Shipley, Pudsey, Morley, Leeds and the surrounding areas, it’s important to take a few simple steps to stay safe, cool and hydrated.
💧 Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
🏠 Keep rooms cool by closing curtains or blinds during the hottest parts of the day.
🧊 Use cool water, cold packs or damp cloths to help lower body temperature.
🛏️ Rest when needed and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest hours.
👨👩👧👦 If you have an older relative, neighbour or friend, a quick phone call or visit can make a real difference during periods of hot weather.
At Home Instead Bradford & West Leeds, we’re reminding all of our clients and families to take extra care this week and to look out for those who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
Stay safe and stay cool. 💜
