Incredible collaboration & wonderful news for too

You may remember in January we bought a her a new community book swap (pictured) in New Mills 📖

And in June, High Peak Comps has donated £50 to her charity fundraiser for Chinley cause Robyn’s Tiny Angel gowns, following a recent half-marathon 🏃‍♀️

The charity provides free clothing packs to maternity bereavement service units 🩷

Some reflections from participating in the Teacher Training weekend in June, alongside a phenomenal group of Yoga practitioners, nurses, dancers, researchers, social workers and housing professionals...

Like many Yoga Teachers, their expertise spanned many sectors, and the breadth and depth of skills represented, was truly astounding.

Thank you to the incredible sensitivity and diligence with which you facilitated the training weekend, and for holding the space for all to engage with the complexity of Learning Disabilities; I felt enervated to be back in the mode of 'learner' though I never really left, I just slowed my roll!

This training has opened the door to a new phase of growing and learning a across the Umbrella Yoga network.

💛 it’s been genuinely life altering to be a part of a learning circle of people this past weekend with .yoga.uk launching the Teaching Yoga for Adults with Learning Disabilities CPD…
🧡 We all have a lot of innate wisdom, much of it a product of hard fought for survival
💛 I acknowledge that my own experiences are often very different from the majority, and the dissonance of being a neurodivergent individual, working harder than everyone else & gaining less support is part and parcel of inherent systemic inequalities that UY seeks to address…
🧡 what astounded me most about the course participants was the commonality, across our contributions & the variety of intersections between our experiences not just as yoga teachers, but as AFAB people, as teachers, as people with variant specialties & experiences of discrimination and disabilities of our own…
✨ I’m so proud of everyone who showed up so fully, especially people who gave so much even when they may have been feeling very emotionally overwhelmed or exhausted…
Absolute respect & love for this new group of friends & learning buddies.
