💙 Honouring those who answer the call.

Although International Paramedics Day was celebrated on 8th July, we’d like to take a moment to recognise the incredible paramedics who dedicate their lives to caring for others when they need it most.

From emergency call-outs and major incidents to community care and event medical cover, paramedics demonstrate exceptional skill, resilience and compassion every single day. Their ability to remain calm under pressure and make life-changing decisions is something we deeply admire.
At Mediqas Group Ltd, we are proud to work alongside and support paramedics across our Medical Services and Training School, and we thank every paramedic for the vital role they play in keeping our communities safe.

☀️ PPE + Hot Weather = Increased Risk of Heat Stress

As temperatures rise across the UK, it’s important to remember that wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) can make it much harder for the body to regulate its temperature.

For healthcare professionals, event medical teams, ambulance crews, and other frontline workers, prolonged periods in PPE can increase the risk of:

💧 Dehydration
🥵 Heat Exhaustion
⚠️ Heat Stress
🚨 Heat Stroke

Some simple steps can make a big difference:

✅ Stay hydrated throughout your shift
✅ Take regular breaks in a cool environment where possible
✅ Recognise the early signs of heat stress, including dizziness, headaches, fatigue, muscle cramps, and difficulty concentrating
✅ Use a buddy system and look out for your colleagues
✅ Allow time to cool down and recover between shifts

On Monday morning, we received a call asking if we could support with providing medical cover in Barcelona.

Within just a couple of hours, plans were in motion flights and accommodation secured, equipment packed, and our team ready to deploy. A testament to the agility, commitment, and professionalism of everyone involved.

We were proud to provide medical cover for the On Squad Race World Series, set against one of the most incredible backdrops imaginable the historic Montjuïc Castle. With the Balearic Sea stretching out on one side and the stunning city of Barcelona on the other, it truly was a spectacular environment to work in.

At Mediqas Group Ltd, our global reach sets us apart. We have the capability to deliver rapid, short-notice medical cover not only across the UK, but worldwide. From major cities to remote locations, we can mobilise quickly and effectively to support events wherever they take place.

Moments like these highlight what can be achieved with a responsive team, strong partnerships, and a shared dedication to delivering high-quality medical support on a global scale.
