St Mary’s Court is a purpose built care home in Braintree, Essex, providing specialist 24 hour residential dementia care and general nursing care.

Set in ten acres of beautiful grounds, St Mary’s Court, owned by Sonnet Care Homes, is a purpose built care home in Braintree that provides dedicated 24 hour residential care for those who are living with dementia, plus nursing and palliative care for people with higher level general nursing care requirements. At St Mary’s Court we work with older people with dementia, and also have a specialist u

nit to support people with young onset dementia. We also have a separate unit dedicated to providing high dependency nursing and palliative care in a calm and supportive environment. Our care teams are highly trained and knowledgeable and they work closely with each resident, providing an individual programme of care and support that enables them to live safely and as independently as possible, and with dignity at all times.

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special 💜

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day 🍦🍫

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.

There was quite a buzz outside our home on Saturday as over 30 scooters rolled in, all there for a very special reason 💜

The came to visit in support of one of our residents who used to be part of their club, and it was clear just how much that connection still means. Seeing the scooters lined up and hearing the stories being shared brought back some lovely memories.

We paired it all with a little Italian flair, with delicious food and live music from Lorraine Ely setting the tone for the afternoon. Our residents were tapping along, chatting away and soaking it all in… it really was a marvellous day 😊

A trip to our local antiques centre is always a favourite, and this visit was no exception. There was plenty of reminiscing, lots to discover and, as always, wonderful company along the way at St Mary's Court Care Home 💜

We're so lucky to have Petersfield Antiques Fair just around the corner. With so many fascinating treasures to browse, it's easy to lose track of time! 🕰️

Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious cream tea and cakes at Fox in the Stables Tearooms , where we're always made to feel so welcome. A lovely afternoon from start to finish ☕🍰

June brought plenty of reasons to celebrate across our homes, with lots of special moments shared together along the way 💜

We marked Care Home Open Week by welcoming visitors into our homes, celebrated Pride Month with colourful activities and conversations, and enjoyed making Father's Day a memorable one for the wonderful father figures in our community 🌈

There was also time for some light hearted fun as we tucked into National Fish and Chips Day, got creative for National Cheese Day, and found lots of other reasons to smile throughout the month 🧀🐟

We’re getting ready for a lovely afternoon with an Italian twist!

On Saturday 11th July 2026, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, we’ll be enjoying an Italian themed party filled with delicious food, great company, and plenty of atmosphere. We’re really looking forward to welcoming Lorraine Ely for live entertainment, bringing some brilliant music to the afternoon 🎶

We’ll also have a special visit from the Braintree Breakfast Scooter Club , who will be arriving with their wonderful collection of classic scooters, which is always a real talking point for our residents and guests alike 😊

The sunshine brought something a little extra to our day, especially with a very special visitor joining us ☀️

Our residents enjoyed a brilliant Danny Leroux tribute, and it did not take long before the room filled with music and familiar lyrics. Some of our lovely ladies were straight in with the singing, while others smiled, tapped along and soaked it all up 💜

There is something quite special about live music. Watching our residents come together, enjoying the moment and each other’s company made the afternoon one to remember. A big thank you to Mark for such a wonderful visit 🎤

🌟⚽️ What an unforgettable Father’s Day! ⚽️🌟

We are thrilled to share that The New Deanery Care Home and St Mary's Court Care Home successfully hosted a fantastic charity football match in honor of all the wonderful dads in our community! 🎉 It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and a true spirit of togetherness.

Thanks to the incredible support from our residents, families, and local community, we raised over £250 for Essex Dementia Care . Every penny will go towards providing essential support for those affected by dementia in our region. 🙏❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and donated. Your generosity makes a real difference! Let’s continue to work together to support this vital cause and bring hope to families in need.

There were plenty of wagging tails and happy faces at St Mary's Court Care Home when six adorable Pomeranians came to pay us a visit 🐾💜

Our wonderful residents loved spending time with their fluffy guests, enjoying cuddles, gentle strokes and getting to know each of their unique personalities. Before long, the room was full of smiles and conversations, with lots of happy memories of beloved pets being shared along the way 😊

A big thank you to the wonderful volunteers from Pawsitive Social society for bringing them along. They may have been small in size, but they certainly stole plenty of hearts during their visit 🐶💜

⚽️ Fancy a kickabout for a good cause?

We're looking for a few teams to join our charity 5-a-side football tournament in support of Essex Dementia Care.

Whether you're a group of mates, work colleagues, family members or a local team, we'd love to have you involved.

It's all about having some fun, getting the community together and raising money for a brilliant local charity that supports people living with dementia and their families.

The tournament takes place on Saturday 20th June from 2pm, and we'd really love to see as many teams involved as possible.

Last week, in celebration of National BBQ Week, at St Mary's Court Care Home we were delighted to host our first barbecue of the year. It was a truly memorable day! There’s nothing quite like seeing our residents and their families come together, sharing stories and enjoying delicious food in the sunshine. 🍔✨

A huge thank you to the wonderful Hollie-Blue for joining us. Her beautiful performance set the perfect tone for the afternoon, bringing smiles and sing-alongs all around. 🎶

We are so grateful to all the families who joined us. Here’s to many more sunny days filled with laughter, community, and great memories! 🌸
