A university-led study is exploring psychological distress and suicidal thoughts among women who have experienced physical violence and/or coercive control.

The research is particularly interested in understanding how these experiences affect mothers whose children have been placed in local authority care and how this compares to women who have not had this experience.

They are inviting people with lived experience to take part in a short, anonymous survey, which takes around 20–30 minutes to complete. By sharing your experiences, you can help improve understanding of coercive control, physical violence and their impact on mental health, including depression and suicidal ideation.
