With plenty of summer sunshine, our homes found ways to enjoy the summer while keeping cool, with ice creams and ice cream van visits proving particularly popular! ๐Ÿฆ

We also put the kettle on for Afternoon Tea Week, enjoyed some well-earned downtime for National Relaxation Day and made the most of the Summer Bank Holiday.

Here are just a few snapshots from August across our homes ๐Ÿ“ธ

A little thank you from The New Deanery Care Home ๐Ÿ’œ

Recently as part of our Thank You Thursday initiative, Gerald, our Customer Relationship Manager, popped into Broomfield Hospital with some fresh, hot bacon rolls for the local ambulance crews.

It was a small gesture, but a lovely way to show our appreciation for the paramedics who work so hard looking after our local community. Weโ€™re very grateful for everything they do!

We had such a lovely afternoon at The New Deanery Care Home when Andy Farrow came to entertain us ๐Ÿ’œ

Our residents were soon tapping along, with plenty of smiles around the room as the music played. A few of us couldnโ€™t resist a little dance, and it was so nice seeing everyone enjoying the moment together ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Andy brought such a warm, cheerful energy with him, and afternoons like this always stay with us for a while after the music stops โค๏ธ

Whatโ€™s your go to song that always gets you up for a dance?

There was plenty of friendly competition at The New Deanery Care Home this week as our wonderful residents gathered together for a game of Boccia ๐Ÿ†

With some impressive throws, lots of encouragement from the sidelines, and a few competitive streaks making an appearance, everyone had a wonderful afternoon. It was lovely to see residents enjoying the challenge together. We might just have a few hidden sporting stars in our home! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’œ

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special ๐Ÿ’œ

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿซ

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.

Here's a little look at what July looked like across our homes ๐Ÿ“ธ

Our lounge was full of singing, smiles and a good old Cockney knees up as we welcomed a wonderful Pearly King and Queen to The New Deanery Care Home ! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ’œ

There were Union Jacks waving, familiar songs that had everyone joining in, and a few of our wonderful residents even had a go at trying on the pearly flat cap. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved and enjoying such a fun afternoon of entertainment together.

A big thank you to our fantastic performers for bringing so much energy and helping make it an afternoon to remember ๐Ÿ˜Š

The excitement was building at The New Deanery Care Home as we brought race day into our lounge for a fun afternoon of friendly competition ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ’œ

With oversized dice, race tracks and numbered horses at the ready, our residents were soon cheering their favourites across the finish line. There were plenty of laughs, a little healthy competition and lots of encouragement with every roll of the dice.

A huge congratulations to our winning champion, who proudly received a medal and teddy trophy for her victory. A big thank you to Peter and our wonderful activities team for making the afternoon such good fun ๐Ÿ˜Š
