Talk therapy isn’t for me.

Not because I don’t want to process things.

I do.

I just seem to do it better privately, in my own time, when the words actually come.

Over the past few months, I’ve been using a mix of meditation, journalling, body-based work, and AI to help me process grief in a way that feels natural to me.

And that experience is becoming part of the work I’m creating through Life, Loss & Becoming.

It’s for women carrying grief quietly.

Not just grief after death, but grief after endings, relationships, burnout, betrayal, identity shifts, and the life you thought you were going to have.

A different way to process what you’re carrying.

Privately.

Gently.

Without having to perform it.

I’ll be sharing more soon. x

Yesterday was my parents’ 53rd wedding anniversary.

The first without Mum.

We didn’t try to say the sad part.

Instead, we told stories.

The ones that make you laugh before they make you cry.

The one that stuck with me was their 50th - at the Ritz.

Mum’s favourite restaurant in the world.

On the way there, in the taxi, she wasn’t well.

By the time she got out, she had a funny turn outside.

The staff wanted to take her straight to hospital.

She said no.

“I’ve paid for my meal. I’m not missing it. I’m coming in!”

So in she went.

She had her meal.

She had a lovely evening with Dad and her family around her.

It was only afterwards we found out she’d had a heart attack!!!

That was my mum.

Determined right down to her bones.

Not missing a moment she’d decided was hers - not even for her own heart.

53 years married.

Missing you today, Mum. And every day.

There is a kind of grief that starts long before someone dies.

It starts in the appointments.
The deterioration.
The wheelchair.
The breathing mask.
The watching.
The waiting.
The tiny losses nobody else can see.

And when death finally comes, the grief is real.

But sometimes so is the relief.

Not because you wanted them gone.

Because the suffering has ended.
Because the responsibility has changed.
Because the waiting is over.
Because you know you stayed.

I think that is something we don’t speak about enough.

You can be heartbroken and relieved.

You can miss someone desperately and still feel peace.

You can know that something ended, while also knowing the love absolutely did not.

Grief is rarely one clean emotion.

Sometimes it is love, devastation, gratitude, exhaustion, relief and peace all living in the same body.

And none of those feelings cancel the others out.

You’re not imaging that your more susceptible to illness - your resilience is low from having to be on high sketch for so long and your physical body is just starting to to catch up 🫶🏻

Could also be me releasing toxins after my full moon ritual last night 😉 it was powerful s**z 😉
