Do you ever feel like the year is racing past while your grand plans quietly stall?

As we step into August, I find myself looking back at the goals I set in earlier in the year. You may have already read about this in today's newsletter to subscribers.

The truth is, life rarely follows a straight line. Robert Frost wrote about the road not taken, but in reality, most of us need to adjust our stride rather than pick an entirely new path. Mid-year course corrections are not about failure; they are about shifting shape and adapting without self-judgment. When we pause, ground ourselves, and use functional breathwork or similar to clear the mental fog, clarity returns. We do not need rigid resolutions. We need quiet moments of reflection to check our heading and breathe easier.

If you are feeling the August shift, take a moment to pause and recalibrate with me here in Worcester. Breathe Better - Live Better.

When the warm weather is with us we can often forget self-care yet this is when we might need it most. So if you fancy metaphorically chilling with me for 90 minutes there’s a mat with your name on it. Yoga Nidra straight into a relaxing sound bath, there’s nothing else like it for deep rest and recovery. Plus if you fancy a cuppa to help ground before you head home then the kettle will be on too. Or you can dash back for the 2nd half of the footy and still catch the inevitable penalty shootout 😂

Booking via the bio or your recent email from me if you’ve been before - you know the score

Come and escape the World Cup fever with me on Wednesday with our super relaxing “sound asleep” nidra and sound bath. No shouting at the TV, no swearing or high blood pressure, just a quiet and calming space to go inwards and reset under the shadow of this week’s New Moon.

As ever there’s the optional cuppa at 8-30pm or you can head home and still get back for the second half - choice is yours and I’d love to see you there.

Booking link in the bio or in the recent email if you’re a returning friend.

Breathing is just about the most important thing we do and most of us do it poorly even if we don't know it!

For the final part of my advanced functional breathwork instructor training I need 3 local volunteers for case studies. This isn't airy-fairy; it is about regulating your system via correct functional breathing using the science-backed Oxygen Advantage methodology. Just google Oxygen Advantage and/or Patrick Mckeown, and you will find a wealth of evidence of its proven effectiveness.

The good news is you don't need to be an aspiring olympic athlete or high flying public figure as pretty much anyone can benefit from improving their breathing in surprising ways.

It is a 2 way street. I provide professional guidance to help you improve things like; sleep, finding focus, improving concentration or reducing anxiety. For athletes, we can work on delaying lactic acid build up, improving recovery, and boosting sprint ability.

You - if you're within 20 miles of Worcester and can commit to:
- Short daily exercises and a simple log.
- A weekly 1-on-1 meeting for 3 to 4 weeks (I will visit you). That's it.

Breathe Better - Live Better. Send me a message if you are ready to start.

Many people wait until they “need” a reset. And whilst this is OK, what is much better is to “top up” often and cruise through life on an even keel.

Whether you “need” a reset or just want to take some time to top up your reserves ready for the summer ahead, Mother Nature is ready and waiting and I’ll be on hand to provide that extra support along the way. The difference has to be experienced to be believed and many people share that they never go for a walk in the woods in the same way as they used to.

Head over to the bio and book your place - see you on Sunday under the cool canopy of the trees. 🙏🏻

Do you ever feel like your brain is running a dozen marathons at once?

I know that feeling all too well. That overactive mind, the one that keeps replaying to-do lists long after you've closed the laptop.

This Sunday, I'm heading to Worcester Woods for our monthly Forest Bathing session, and I'd love for you to join me. If you've never tried it, don't worry; there's no water involved. It's simply about being among the trees and letting your nervous system remember how to slow down.

Science backs it up. Being under the canopy lowers cortisol, boosts immune function, and lifts your mood. It's nature's protective bubble.

I only have 9 spots left for this Sunday at 1pm. It's a small and completely beginner-friendly. No pressure, nothing to get right or wrong You just need to bring yourself.

One recent participant told me they arrived feeling frayed and left feeling like they could finally take a full breath. That's what the woods do.

Fancy joining me?

"If all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail." It is a phrase that keeps me grounded. I have spent well over a decade now studying and mastering techniques such as NLP, meditation/mindfulness, sound baths, yoga nidra, and breathwork practices from both sides of the pendulum including functional, not to collect certificates and be accredited in all of these, but to ensure I am never that person with only one tool.

Helping you is not a one-size-fits-all endeavour. Your nervous system is as unique as a fingerprint. When you come to me, we are not hammering a nail; we are uncovering the right approach for your specific path, whether that is the grounding of ecoNIDRA or the transformative power of conscious connected breathwork.

Swipe through to understand why a diverse toolkit matters for your journey. When you are ready for a truly tailored approach, book a session with me at thetranquilmind.com.

Did you know your heart actually changes its rhythm when you step into the woods mindfully? ❤️🌲

In our daily hustle, it is not uncommon to find getting stuck in 'fight or flight' mode. The heart rate stays up as the body stays on high alert. Forest bathing helps me flip the switch to the parasympathetic nervous system; the 'rest and digest' mode and I’ve seen first hand how it does the same for others in our sessions.

Studies show that even a short time spent being mindfully guided among the trees can lower blood pressure and increase heart rate variability, a real indicator of improved vagal tone from being down regulated. It’s like giving your heart a much-needed exhale.

I love seeing the shift in people's energy when we head into the forest. The tension just... melts. It happened to everyone who joined me at Croome Court on Saturday and will happen again if you choose to join me in Worcester Woods on the 12th July.
