Pregnancy is an incredible journey... but it can also bring its fair share of aches and discomfort.

As your body changes to make room for your growing baby, it's completely normal to experience things like lower back pain, pelvic discomfort, tight shoulders, swollen feet, or aching hips.

EMMETT Therapy is a wonderfully gentle, safe technique that can help your body relax and release muscle tension without the need for deep massage or forceful treatment. Many mums-to-be find it helps them move more comfortably, improves relaxation, and gives them a little time to focus on themselves before baby arrives.

Every pregnancy is different, so treatments are always tailored to how you're feeling on the day, with your comfort and wellbeing as the priority.

If you're expecting and would like to feel a little more comfortable during your pregnancy, I'd be happy to answer any questions and chat about whether EMMETT Therapy could help.

Take care of yourself – you're doing an amazing job.

As always, EMMETT Therapy should complement your maternity care, and if you have any concerns about your pregnancy, it's important to speak with your midwife or healthcare provider first.

Does warm weather magically get rid of aches and pains?
I hear this quite a lot at BODYWORKS!
While the sunshine can help us feel a little looser and more active, it's not always enough to stop those annoying aches and areas of stiffness.
Summer often means we're doing more—spending time in the garden, heading off on holiday, taking longer walks, playing with the grandchildren or tackling those jobs we've been putting off all winter. Before we know it, our neck, shoulders or back are reminding us we've overdone it!
The good news is that you don't have to just "put up with it."
The EMMETT Technique is a gentle, effective approach that aims to help your body relax and move more comfortably, so you can get back to enjoying everything summer has to offer.
If aches or stiffness are getting in the way of enjoying the season, send me a message. I'm always happy to have a chat and see if I can help.

:🌿 Stay Cool Naturally This Summer
When the heat rises, nature has some wonderfully soothing allies. Essential oils and aloe vera offer gentle, effective ways to keep cool while supporting your wellbeing.

💧Peppermint Power
A light spritz of peppermint hydrosol or a diluted peppermint oil mist can bring instant refreshment and help you feel more energised. Just remember not to spray near the eyes and not to use near infants and babies.

🌸 Lavender Calm
A cool compress infused with lavender oil is perfect for easing heat-induced tension and calming the mind.

🍊 Citrus Lift
Diffusing citrus oils like lemon or sweet orange brings a bright, uplifting atmosphere — ideal for summer days. Most citrus oils are not good on the skin in summer though due to phototoxicity, so just diffuse.

🌱 Aloe Vera Relief
Chilled aloe gel is a skin‑soothing essential. It hydrates, cools, and helps calm sun‑exposed skin. Blend with cucumber juice for an extra refreshing touch. You can add peppermint and lavender essential oils to aloe but you need to use a little vegetable oil first. In a 30g jar, add 25ml pure aloe, then in 5ml of vegetable oil add 3 drops of peppermint essential oil and 3 drops lavender essential oil. Add to the aloe in the jar and mix thoroughly to make a paste. This a lovely cooling after sun blend.

✨ Stay fresh, stay balanced, and let nature support you through this unusually hot summer warmth!

For many, like Michelle, the results can be life-changing. After experiencing frozen shoulder issues, Michelle found that targeted EMMETT releases provided the relief she had been searching for, even when surgery seemed like the only remaining option.
Why the technique stands out:

🟡 Rapid response - many clients feel a difference in flexibility and comfort within minutes.
🔵 Improved mobility - research has shown significant improvements in balance for elderly residents and muscle flexibility for athletes.
🟡 Posture support - gentle points help the body reset its natural alignment.
🔵 Experience a remarkable approach to physical wellbeing.

I Once Believed My Life Had No Future

Depression convinced me that my story was finished. It told me there was no future worth waiting for. It whispered that I had nothing left to offer.

There was a moment when ending everything seemed like the most rational option. Not dramatic.
Not impulsive.
Just… logical.

But that was the depression talking, not me.

I’m grateful every day that I didn’t listen.

Why?

Because things did change.

Not instantly, not magically, not perfectly, but slowly, gently, painfully, beautifully.

If today you feel like there’s nothing ahead of you…that is the depression speaking, not the truth.

If you want to talk, message me.

If you need help finding proper support, I can help safely and confidentially.

Your story isn’t over.

Men’s Health Week starts on Monday and it is an opportunity to raise awareness about the health challenges faced by men and promote complementary therapy treatments to help with physical and mental well-being.

03/06/2026

It's amazing how hundreds of thousands of people every week choose complementary therapies to help with relief from their symptoms and gain a better quality of life. Our services are allied to medicine in that we can complement other forms of healthcare you are receiving. We are not Spa or beauty therapists and can treat your symptoms safely and effectively in ways you are not even aware of and we can liaise with your GP, midwife, physiotherapist etc. to ensure the best and safest treatment.

What is important is that you employ a therapist who has been properly trained and that is where we come in. A therapist who is a member of a reputable association has had their qualifications verified, has insurance to practice and abides by our CPD, ethics and disciplinary procedures. A reputable association works with the CNHC, like us and sits on national therapy Councils, like us. You can trust a therapist who has MCHP after their name.
