Ayurveda recognises the seasons just like it recognises our personal Dosha. September sees us moving into Vata season and with it we shift our eating but aren’t most of us doing that anyway 🤔

With a small shift in temperature and a noticeable change in the length of the day I’m already beginning to think of log fires and warming stews. Cold foods are off the menu as these will weaken my digestion and therefore my immunity.

Another consideration is giving our immune system a little extra support, especially if you have children at school bringing home bugs and germs.

You might like to consider adding in a vitamin C supplement as well as zinc and with the shorter days comes the need for vitamin D. All these will help support your immune system and help keep infections at bay.

Another little addition you might like to try is a herbal honey. Both echinacea and turmeric are supportive for your immune system. You could take a spoonful daily or take 1/2 tsp every 2 hours at the sign of a sore throat. Make a fresh batch every few days.

Being proactive with your health is so much more beneficial than waiting until you get sick.

Ayurveda has been telling us for 5000 years that poor gut health is at the root of disease. Finally western science is catching up.

One of the key ways to support your gut is through diversity. Western diets have become very narrow in their food choices so let’s get mixing things up by adding in variety.

For the past 125 years we have become more and more dependent on pharmaceutical products. We now live in a society that believes in a pill for an ill, we want an instant fix because that is what we have been taught.

People have become disparaging of natural medicine even though it kept them healthy for centuries and pharmaceutical medicine is a synthetic attempt to replicate what nature does best.

But let’s face it the world is sicker now than ever before. The majority of people are living with some degree of sickness, a huge percentage are on at least one form of pharmaceutical medicine, mental health is at an all time low, children are being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes which was formerly considered an age related illness.

It is time we took back control of our own health and wellbeing. Self-care is not selfish rather it is our choice. In caring for ourselves we are actually in a stronger place to support family and friends, we have better boundaries so we don’t get exploited, we have more energy, we live with less stress, we sleep better, our mental health is stronger and ultimately we will live longer, happier, healthier lives.

It all begins with you……take back control, make dietary choices and lifestyle changes, look to nature it can offer you so much.

If you would like to know more about how I can help you to make these changes please reach out via ☎️ or DM. I also offer a free 30 minute discovery call, you will find the booking link in the comments.

One of the beautiful things about Ayurveda is that the journey is unique to you.

I meet so many clients who feel unheard by their GP, assumptions are made, medication is prescribed and they are sent on their way.

Ayurveda is not about a label, it isn’t about a prescription but rather about understanding your unique make up.

🌱The child you were
🌱Your body type
🌱The foods you eat
🌱The physical or emotional trauma you have experienced
🌱How you sleep
🌱The colour of your hair
🌱Even the shape of your tongue

And in the same way your journey to better wellness is unique to you, guided by these personal traits and experiences.

🌱Guided and supported by nature
🌱Supported by lifestyle practices
🌱Guided by the foods that will support your unique make-up
🌱Supported by the vast array of herbs that nature has gifted us

If you are tired of being unheard, tired of the endless GP visits without a solution, tired of being a guinea pig with medication because they don’t know what the ‘problem’ is then I would love a conversation with you.

I offer a free 30 minute discovery call where we can chat about what is bothering you, a little about Ayurveda and the what your journey to better wellness might look like.

Don’t let our broken system rob you of a healthier and happier life.

Originating in the Himalayas, Ayurveda is the oldest form of health care and medicine at over 5000 years old. Most people have heard of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) but few have heard of Ayurveda, even though TCM developed later and is believed to have come from Ayurveda. They share many values and similarities not least that the body is designed to heal itself and both practices work with the body to support this process.

It is a marriage between mind, body and spirit, a living science that has transformed and moved throughout the centuries to match the needs of the individual, yet its principles remain the same. Western medicine has lost sight of the union, and this separation is what holds us back from living healthier lives.

Ayurveda is deeply attuned with nature, it provides us with the wisdom and instincts we need, it teaches us to make better choices, these choices being made through food, lifestyle practices and herbal remedies, enabling us to experience overall well-being.

Ancient Ayurvedic texts says, “The body has an innate inner intelligence and consciousness that underlies all physiological, structural, functional, emotional and psychological form and function”. Ayurveda embraces the bodies desire to heal and be healthy, its aim is to prevent disfunction and disease promoting a long and healthy life.

Decluttering is a term I’m sure you are familiar with but probably in the context of your home. We live in a materialistic world and it’s easy to end up with too much ‘stuff’

But have you ever stopped to consider that your personal life may need the same treatment?

21st century living is spent rushing from one thing to the next, fitting as much work and play into our life as we possibly can.

Do you ever stop and evaluate how much pleasure you get from each aspect of what you rush to do? Is your life truly richer for filling it full with so much ‘stuff’?

It is easy to get swept along in a tide of busyness and think you are happy. But let me tell you your body is not happy. You may not see the signs yet of the toll it is taking on you mentally, physically or emotionally. It may be in 10, 15, 20 years time that the cracks truly begin to appear. A difficult menopause, cancer, dementia, heart attack, stroke but the body will be giving you signs now if you slow down and listen……

…..poor sleep, IBS, low energy, anxiety, weight gain, thinning hair, joint pains, migraines. So many things that we right off as ‘normal’.

Ayurveda talks about dharma ‘living the right way’ living a life full of meaning, purpose and passion. A life lived well notices the little things, the bird song, the wind in the trees, the beautiful sunset, the smell of fresh coffee, the smile, the kind words.

Are you ready to hit pause, to declutter your life a little, to take control of your own wellbeing allowing you to halt the onset of health conditions later in life. Statistics show that you may live to be 85 but the in last 15 - 20 years we may not have the wellbeing to enjoy them.

I still have some wellness coaching spaces left at student rates, available until the end of September. This includes
💖a full Ayurvedic assessment of your health and lifestyle
💖a 1 to 1 session to take a deep dive into this assessment and for you to decide what it is that you would truly like support with
💖a personalised protocol to begin your journey, to enable you to take control of your lifestyle, your eating, your sleep habits, your anxiety, lifestyle practices, as well as herbal remedies you can incorporate to support your health.
💖a follow up 1 to 1 consultation to evaluate your progress, look at what has worked and what hasn’t, adjustments we might need to make, how you can move forward with this new approach to live your life well.
💖plus I am available for questions and support during the whole process.
💖this is currently available for £120 but will rise to £175 from October.

Herbs play a central role in Ayurveda as they are so supportive of the body in a gentle, natural way.

Drinking them in tea form is a simple way to incorporate them into your life.

CCF Tea (Cumin + Coriander + Fennel) is great for supporting better digestion.

→ add ½ tsp of each herb to boiling water and steep for 7–10 mins.
→ enjoy after meals to aid digestion.

Let me know if you try it and what you think? Did you like, did you notice any benefits?

Hello and welcome to my page thank you for joining me.

I decided to start a separate page for the wellness coaching side of my business to save confusion. It is still very much integrated under the main banner of Julie Duriez Wellness and reflexology is still a significant part.

Since qualifying as an Ayurvedic clinician I have joined the CMA to bring you complete confidence in the treatments and advice you can receive from me.

If you have any questions regarding anything I mention on any of my posts please feel free to comment or DM me.

Thank you for your support, Julie

Are you struggling with anxiety, stress, overwhelm? This is one of my case studies from my recent course had to say about her experience.

“In November last year I was lucky enough to assist Julie in a Case Study for her Ayurvedic course. I’ve always suffered from Anxiety and Panic attacks, and I asked her if it would be something that could help these.
After completing some forms regarding my dietary habits, lifestyle and regular routines, Julie did a couple of assessments using the information I provided her with, then finally, came up with an analysis of everything, together with lots of management techniques, changes to diet and lifestyle, and suggestions to improve some areas of my life generally.
My husband and I had already started addressing our diet to rid ourselves of Ultra Processed Foods (UPF’s) and improve other aspects of our health. Together with Julie’s suggestions we have been slowly converting our food consumption to more healthy options, and creating more relaxed time, for meals, morning and evening routines and other aspects of our life.
Fast approaching our Seventies, we are aiming to “turn our life around” a bit and I can say it’s an ongoing project. We decided not to jump into everything feet first but start looking at every part of this slowly and methodically, replacing our larder with better choices.
Over the last six months, I have begun to reap some positive benefits from all of this, and life is now more relaxed, with healthy choices both in our diets and lifestyle.
Why not give it a go, I know some aspects of it haven’t really been for me, but I certainly feel better and healthier using the new “tools of the trade” that Julie has furnished me with”.

Want to know more about how I might be able to help you then drop me a DM.
