You’ll provide 1:1 tuition in core subjects, supporting young people to build confidence, develop their skills, and work towards recognised qualifications. 🎓

😴 What an exhausting first week of the summer holidays!

☀️ While most people are enjoying a well-earned break, the team at NextGen Young People’s Services have been working hard behind the scenes preparing for the new academic year. 📚

We’re trying not to wish the summer away… but we’re so excited for what’s to come! 🙌

🎉 We’re delighted to announce that NextGen Young People’s Services is now an approved provider on Somerset Council’s Alternative Provision Framework! 🎉

This is a huge milestone for us, and we’re incredibly proud to be expanding our support for children and young people across Somerset. 💙

We can’t wait to welcome both new and returning students this September and continue providing high-quality, personalised Alternative Education that helps every young person thrive. 🌟

🍓🥣 We’ve also been busy making some delicious, healthy treats! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

As part of the activity, everyone worked together to follow the recipe, carefully measure out the ingredients 📏⚖️, and develop their cooking and maths skills along the way. 💚

Our tasty recipe included:
🥣 Greek yogurt
🍯 Honey
🌾 Self-raising flour
🍫 Cocoa powder
🍓 Fresh strawberries

The finished treats looked (and smelled!) absolutely amazing… 😍 We don’t think there’ll be any left! 🤭😋

Another fantastic hands-on activity that combined learning, teamwork, and healthy eating. 🌟

🌱🥒 As another fantastic academic year comes to a close, we wanted to share one of the wonderful projects our amazing young people have been working on. 💚

From seed to jar 🥒🌿➡️🫙, they’ve created their own homemade pickles using cucumbers and herbs grown in our garden. Along the way, they’ve watered and cared for the plants 💧🌱, harvested the produce 🧺, weighed and measured ingredients ⚖️, and even learned the canning process. 👏

This has been an incredible learning journey, helping to develop valuable life skills, confidence, teamwork, and patience. 🌟🤝💚

Our garden has also become a haven for wildlife 🐝🦋🐞, giving us the opportunity to share the space with a variety of insects and inspiring a real appreciation for nature. 🌼🌍

That growing passion has sparked an exciting new nature-based project for the next academic year, and we can’t wait to share it with you! 🍃✨

A huge well done to all of our wonderful young people for everything they’ve achieved this year. 🎉👏 We hope you all have a fantastic summer ☀️🍉, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another year of learning, growing, and creating together! 🌱📚💚

🦈 Today at NextGen Alternative Education, we’ve been making a splash as we celebrated World Shark Day! 🌊

Our learners have been exploring the amazing world of sharks—discovering different species, learning about their habitats, uncovering fascinating facts, and finding out why these incredible creatures are so important for keeping our oceans healthy.

Did you know there are over 500 species of sharks, and most are completely harmless to humans? 🦈💙

It’s been a jawsome day of curiosity, creativity, and learning!

💜 Happy Carers Week! 🩷

This week, we’re celebrating carers everywhere — and saying a huge THANK YOU to every single person who cares for someone else. 🌟

Parents, foster carers, grandparents, siblings, young carers, support workers, friends and neighbours — caring comes in many forms, and so much of it goes unseen. The early starts, the appointments, the worry, the patience, the love that never switches off. We see you, and we appreciate everything you do.

This year’s theme is Building Carer Friendly Communities — a reminder that no carer should have to do it alone. Carers deserve to be recognised, supported and listened to — not just this week, but every week of the year.

At NextGen Young People’s Services, we’re proud to play our part in building a community where every carer feels seen, valued and supported. 💪
