📣 WE’RE HIRING – TWO VACANCIES AVAILABLE!

We’re looking for two Casual Funeral Service Operatives to join our friendly team at Ernest Brigham Funeral Directors in Bridlington.

This is a flexible, casual role supporting our team in providing a professional, compassionate and dignified service to local families.

No previous funeral industry experience is required – full training and uniform will be provided.

The role includes supporting our Funeral Directors at funeral services, bearing coffins, preparing for services, driving our specialist vehicles and helping us maintain the high standards of care our families expect.

Please note that being part of our out-of-hours on-call rota is an essential requirement of the role. This involves:

🌙 One night on call each week
📅 One weekend on call in every four

Applicants therefore need to be comfortable with the flexibility and responsibility that comes with providing an out-of-hours funeral service.

💷 £13.40 per hour
⏰ Casual/flexible working
🚗 Full UK driving licence required

Died peacefully on 15th August 2026, aged 93, originally from Hessle.

Beloved wife of the late Pete, much-loved mum, mum-in-law, gran & great-gran to many.

Known to many as the former landlady of The Cosy Corner/The Coachman and the greengrocer at 149 Marton Road, Bridlington. She had lived in Bempton since 1980.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral, but please raise a glass of Cinzano and lemonade in her honour.

Dearly loved partner of Malcolm, a treasured aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt and a good friend to many. Will be sadly missed and loved by us all.
Service at The Priory Church Bridlington on Wednesday 2nd September at 2.00 pm followed by cremation at The East Riding Crematorium, Octon. Donations in her memory for the continued work of The Priory Church and Yorkshire Air Ambulance may be left at the service.

Dearly loved wife of the late Frank. Much loved mum of John, Paul and Maria, also a dear mother-in-law and grandma.

Service at The Priory Church Bridlington on Monday 7th September at 11.00am, followed by interment at Bridlington Cemetery. Donations in her memory for Priory View Adult Day Centre and the continued work of The Priory Church may be left at the service.

Service to be held at St Andrews Church Boynton on Friday 4th September at 1pm. Donations in her memory for St Catherine's Hospice and Alzheimer's Research Uk may be left at the service.
