Why we can't always force confidence 🍃
🧠 It is so easy for any of us to look at our work or our lives and feel a quiet, nagging sense that we aren't doing well enough. I often think about how quickly we assume this feeling is a factual reflection of our abilities, rather than a natural response to being tired, stretched, or under prolonged pressure.
⚖️ When any human being is pushing themselves to achieve or cope, a subtle exhaustion can set in. This exhaustion naturally tricks our minds into filtering out our successes while magnifying our doubts, making even the most capable person feel like they are falling short.
🤍 If you, or anyone you know, has felt stuck in that cycle of self-doubt lately, it isn’t proof that you are failing or incapable. It is simply how a tired mind tries to process the heavy expectations we, and the world around us, place on our shoulders.
🕯️ We don't have to force an artificial sense of confidence or criticise ourselves for feeling insecure. Sometimes, the first step to feeling steady again is just acknowledging how hard we've been trying, and gently giving ourselves permission to believe we are already doing enough.
🌱 Wishing everyone a gentle week ahead,
