For years, eating disorders have been described as “rare.” The latest UK data tells a very different story.
Around 1 in 20 people in the UK—approximately 3.5 million children, young people and adults—are likely living with an eating disorder.
These figures, published by , are a powerful reminder that eating disorders are common, serious mental illnesses that deserve timely recognition, compassionate care, and equitable access to treatment.
