Latitude 2026 reminded me exactly why staying strong and mobile matters.

A full week of music, dancing, walking, camping, late nights and being on my feet, and I was able to enjoy it all without feeling like my body was holding me back.

That’s what fitness means to me.

It’s not just about how much you can lift or what you look like in the mirror. It’s about having a body that allows you to say yes to the things you enjoy.

I didn’t even start strength training until I was 50.

So if you’re sitting there thinking you’re too old to start, think again. You’re never too old to build strength, improve your mobility and give yourself more freedom to enjoy life.

What would you love to still be doing in your 60s, 70s and beyond?

At Latitude 2026, I spent a full week walking, dancing, camping, and enjoying the music from morning until late at night.

Was I the youngest person there? No.
Did I enjoy every minute? Absolutely.

This is exactly why I talk so much about strength training and mobility after 50. Not to help you lift heavier weights, but to help you keep saying yes to the experiences that make life enjoyable.

Your body should support the life you want to live, not hold you back.

One of my favourite things about these sessions is what you *don’t* always notice at first.

Yes, everyone is carrying a pair of dumbbells. Yes, their grip, shoulders, core, posture and balance are all being challenged. But listen closely, and you’ll hear something else...

Conversation.

Laughter.

Friends catching up.

Because fitness doesn’t have to be about shouting, suffering or pushing yourself to the limit every single session.

Functional exercises like the farmer’s carry prepare you for everyday life. Carrying shopping bags. Lifting luggage. Walking with better posture. Feeling more stable and confident as you move.

The fact that everyone can chat while training doesn’t mean the exercise isn’t working. It means we’re building strength in a way that feels sustainable, enjoyable and fits into real life.

That is exactly what these small group sessions are all about.

If you’re looking for a welcoming environment where you can get stronger, move better and enjoy the process, we’d love to have you join us.

Ten days. Ten questions. One message.

Over the last decade, I’ve been asked the same questions by women over 40 time and time again.

“Am I too old?”
“Will lifting weights make me bulky?”
“Should I just stick to cardio?”
“Have I missed my chance?”

The truth is, those questions usually come from one place: the fear that it’s too late.

It isn’t.

Your body is capable of far more than you think, and strength has no age limit. Whether you’re just getting started or getting back to yourself, there’s no better time than now.

If you’ve missed any of the series, go back and watch all 10 videos. Chances are, one of those questions is one you’ve been asking yourself too.

💬 Which one resonated with you the most? Let me know in the comments.

Age is not the reason to slow down and when you train with people who encourage you, celebrate your wins, and keep you accountable, showing up becomes a lot easier.

Progress isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, learning, and taking one step forward each session.

Seeing confidence grow is one of the best parts of coaching. The weights matter, but so do the smiles, the encouragement, and knowing you’re becoming stronger than you were yesterday.

Every session is another step towards a stronger, healthier, more confident you.

If you’ve been thinking about starting strength training but aren’t sure where to begin, send me a DM

Last week I shared the Top 10 Questions I Get Asked as a Personal Trainer, covering the questions I hear time and time again from women over 40 who are thinking about starting strength training.

This video brings the whole series together, with Parts 1–5 linked so you can easily catch up if you missed them.

My biggest hope is that this series helps you realise you’re not alone. Almost every woman I work with starts with the same worries—“Will I get bulky?” “Is it too late?” “Will I get injured?” The truth is, strength training is one of the best things you can do for your health, confidence, and quality of life as you get older.

If you’ve been sitting on the fence, let this be your sign to start.

💬 If you have a question that wasn’t covered, or you’d like to find out how I can help you get stronger, send me a message. I’d love to hear from you.

When I talk about having a community, this is what I mean.
Fitness is a lot more than just exercise, it’s having people who encourage you, a coach who knows your name , plenty of laughs between sets and leaving every session feeling better than when you arrived.

What looks like a game is actually a full-body strength and mobility session

These women are passing a bouncy ball hand to foot, foot to hand, 20 reps down the line.

It looks like fun. It is fun.

Every pass of the ball challenges your shoulders, hips, core, balance, timing, and focus. These are the movements that help you stand up with confidence, carry your shopping, play with your grandchildren, garden, travel, and enjoy life with less pain.

The best part? We do it together. There’s plenty of laughter, encouragement, and a community that celebrates every win.

Because getting stronger should be fun.
