Have you ever been to an event that just feels different?

One week on from the yourcoachingjourney annual conference in Warwickshire.

A wonderful event as always organised by helenleathers and Tom Dillon – bringing together doctors who coach.

The speakers were all brilliant. I'm left full of ideas I can incorporate into my own coaching to help my clients and patients.

The best part of these conferences for me though is the atmosphere and the people.
There is a great energy of warmth, open-ness and optimism.

It was lovely to connect with old friends and new.
I love hearing from people at different stages of their coaching journeys. How they are helping patients within the NHS and clients in their own private practice. I particularly enjoy hearing the entrepreneurial journeys that doctors are on when starting their own coaching enterprise.

If you are a doctor or health professional thinking about coaching, then I would highly recommend getting in touch with Tom and Helen at Your Coaching Journey.

I was enjoying the event so much I forgot to take any photos.

Thanks to the wonderful drjowatkins for this one.

Becoming a Health Coach

In conversation with about what health professionals need to know when transitioning into health coaching.

The problem? There’s no regulation around health coaching, which means massive variability in quality. Some coaches are highly trained professionals. Others have almost no training at all. That lack of clarity leaves many health professionals confused about what they actually need to put in place.

We are seeing growing interest in coaching amongst doctors and health professionals—whether it’s bringing coaching skills into your current role, offering it as an additional service, or making a total career change. Without clarity on qualifications, accreditation, supervision, indemnity and how to actually find and retain clients, it’s easy to feel lost.

are hosting a free Coaching with Confidence webinar to walk through the practicalities. If you’re considering coaching, currently training, or newly qualified, this one’s for you.

January Recap

2025 was one of the busiest years for me.
January felt like stepping into a different rhythm entirely.

I spent Christmas and New Year with family in rural Queensland enjoying quality time – plenty of sunshine, fun and connection. It was the perfect reset and recharge. Then on to spending an incredible time in Brisbane – one of my favourite cities in the world.

Flying home to Scotland brought a huge contrast: snow-covered landscapes and the most spectacular northern lights I’ve ever witnessed.

I’ve had a chance to reflect and I’m so grateful for the efforts , Lindsay and I have put into growing over the past 12 months.

I’m grateful for all the support we’ve received along the way. It’s been wonderful reconnecting with our members at our live sessions this month. I love spending time with inspiring people who are committed to their own growth, who challenge the status quo and who genuinely care about making a difference in healthcare and in their own lives.

This month I’ve had some great conversations with medics and coaches who are growing their businesses and doing things differently. There are lots of exciting projects ahead, including the launch of our LifeMed Coaching Plus. I’m looking forward to the year ahead and to sharing the journey with you.

January has taught me something important: sustainability matters. Looking after ourselves is the foundation of everything else. You can’t pour from an empty cup – and that’s how we build real, lasting impact.

What’s one thing you’re genuinely excited about this year?
