☀️ Has August changed your routine?

Summer is often a busy month for many of us and many classes take a break over the summer.

While it's lovely to have a change of pace, it can also mean we lose the small rituals that help us feel grounded.

I'm still teaching throughout August offering a space to breathe, slow down and reconnect with yourself.

I teach welcoming yoga classes where the focus isn't on achieving the perfect pose, but on moving with awareness, building strength with care, improving mobility and finding a little more ease in both body and mind.

You can find me:

Mondays 6.15pm
Old Boat Community Centre
Hollingbury

If you'd like to chat with me whether the class is right for you feel free to message me and you can find out more via my website www.yogawithcamilla.com

I love practising Bridge Pose (sethu bandhasana)) by holding onto the sides of the mat. It gives me something to connect with, without needing to grip or force the movement.

For me, it’s an opportunity to explore the pelvis intuitively — noticing how the pelvis can move, tilt and respond rather than trying to make the “perfect” shape.

This way of moving can help bring awareness and ease to the lower back, encouraging the spine and pelvis to move together rather than asking the back to do all the work.

There’s also something calming about the slower, rhythmic nature of bridge - dipping & swaying the pelvis and moving with the breath, can help shift us towards a more settled state, giving the nervous system a chance to slow down and draw the senses inward ~ 'pratyahara'.

Coming to a yoga class for the first time is a big thing ! It can feel scary and we may feel awkward, nervous & self conscious that we may not be able to keep up.

My job as a yoga teacher is to create an environment where people feel safe, supported and seen.

When one feels safe in an environment and trusts the teacher through the feeling tone the teacher emits, and people are given permission to explore and find ways of practicing that suit their own body (because we are all different ) they can relax enough to drop into that space where body/mind tensions can unravel, they trust themselves and essentially enjoy their practice !

Yoga = union, connection , joining , to yoke.
