Lammas traditionally celebrated on August 1st and also known by its Gaelic roots as Lughnasadh marks the first grain harvest of the year, serving as a sacred threshold between the peak heat of summer and the quiet descent into autumn. Spiritually, it calls us to pause and harvest the fruits of our own personal intentions, celebrating the tangible rewards of the labour , passion, and energy we have poured into our lives since Spring. Yet, as much as Lammas is a celebration of golden abundance and gratitude, it carries a deeper, bittersweet truth: for the grain to nourish us, it must first be cut down. It acts as a gentle reminder of the cyclical nature of life, inviting us to acknowledge that fulfillment requires sacrifice, and that as the sun begins its gradual shift, we are called to let go of what has served its purpose so we can truly digest and honour all that we have grown.
As August unfolds, may you gather the golden fruits of everything you’ve poured your heart into this year. May this month bring you peace in what is coming to fruition, clarity in what needs to be released, and a deep, grounding gratitude for how far you’ve come. Wishing you a Happy Lammas and a month filled with warmth, quiet confidence, and steady abundance.
Have a beautiful day! x
