Octopus facts: their tentacles can independently see, think, taste and smell. They can squeeze through gaps as small as their eyes, and change their skin colour and texture. They are the only invertebrates to use tools and plan ahead, and their unique qualities have caused scientists to completely rethink the nature of intelligence. They can release ink as a smokescreen but also as a body double to confuse predators - called a polymorphic cloud - and if that isn't a great name for a painting I don't know what is!
