50 Vs 50½ YEARS OLD
The photo on the left was taken on my 50th birthday in Jan.
The photo on the right was taken just 11 weeks after deciding to make a much more focused effort with my nutrition.
The result?
💪 4.9kg lost
📏 7.6cm off my waist
📉 24.3% reduction in my summed skinfold measurements
Perhaps the most important takeaway isn’t the numbers though…
It’s that this happened after turning 50.
One of the biggest myths I hear is:
“I’m over 50 now… it’s too late.”
Is changing your body composition a little more challenging than it was in your twenties?
Probably.
But challenging doesn’t mean impossible.
Your body still responds to resistance training. It still responds to adequate protein. It still responds to good nutrition. It still adapts.
The fundamentals haven’t changed.
What often changes is our consistency, our priorities, and the belief that it’s worth trying.
If you’re over 40, 50 or even 60, don’t write yourself off because of the number on your birthday card.
You may not look exactly as you did at 25, but you can absolutely become leaner, stronger and healthier than you are today.
Age isn’t an excuse.
It’s a reason to start.
Your best years don’t have to be behind you.
