Sometimes you're just not ready to talk. You haven't quite found the words yet, or gained the sense of safety needed to begin to make sense of what you are holding on to, or perhaps what is holding on to you.

If you've never been in therapy, you might not believe that talking through your problems with a total stranger can help ease your suffering or confusion. Maybe you're ashamed of how you feel, afraid of what life will look like if you let it all spill out.

I could tell you that your therapist, if they're right for you, won't always feel like a stranger. That they can help you to build the trust that needs to come first and that they know that for some people, this can take time. That they have trained to walk alongside you, even in the darkest of places; that you won't be 'too much'.

But while I do believe all this, I also want you to have some resources for right now - you might not be ready to talk but maybe you're ready to listen to others who've walked similar paths, who are still walking, but have learned a lot along the way.

Podcasts can be a great way to connect with your own thoughts and experiences in your own time, at your own pace, as well as giving you more insight into what therapy entails. Here are some goodies:
