🙏 Birth worker event at UHSussex Maternity
We were delighted to recently host our second UHSussex Birth Worker collaboration event at our Royal Sussex County Hospital site in Brighton, bringing together UHSussex midwives and non-NHS birth workers from across our local maternity community.
❤️ Hosted by the UHSussex Consultant Midwives, the well-attended event provided an opportunity to build relationships, strengthen networks, and discuss how we can work together to support women, families, and one another in the current midwifery climate.
We also were able to take the attendees on a tour of our maternity unit, showing the different ways that the environment can be adapted to support women and people in their birthing choices.
🫶🏼This event marks another important step on our journey to creating stronger partnerships across our birth worker community, fostering collaboration and shared learning.
Thank you go everyone who came, and brought such passion and care and interesting perspectives to the conversations that we had. What was clear, was that we all had in common the drive to support birthing families to have personalised care and support at the highest standard possible.
We took feedback from everyone about the day, and will use this to improve the next ones.
👉 We are really looking forward to continuing these conversations at our next quarterly event, which will be hosted at St Richard’s Hospital in October – date to follow!
