Making a difference…

Yesterday I did my first event in Brighton, which seems mad as I’ve lived near the city for over 27 years.

It was hot, it was busy and
it was jammed packed full of colourful people and colourful creations and although they weren’t my usual crowd, it was a pretty successful day.

I sold a stack of books, organised a few sessions, did a bit of networking and chatted to a whole host of wonderful people.

But my main take away from the event is that it’s not all about what you sell, its also about whose heart you touch.

Which person needs that reassuring hug, that gentle smile, that complimentary comment or simply a moment of your time to be seen and heard?

Being fully present in any busy room takes focus, it requires awareness, but most of all it means applying the intention to make a positive difference simply by being there.

My next event is in October at The Shoreham Centre and I can’t wait, hopefully I’ll see some of your beautiful faces there!

Grateful…

On this day two years ago my mum stop breathing.

No warning, no illness, just wings ready to fly.

Although the process of grieving has taken me to some pretty dark places, today I’m grateful for the love that surrounds me.

I’m grateful to my husband, my family, my real world friends and my friends on these platforms.

I’m grateful for the cards the flowers and the messages.

I’m grateful to be here, living, breathing and experiencing all that life has to offer.

Grief has a way of shifting priorities and although it was once a raw state, now it is not.

Today I celebrate life and love and am thankful to my mum for birthing me, for holding me and for simply being the mum that she was for me.

“Mum you are alive within me always, in my heart, my bones, my body and my blood.”

Happy Dad’s Day…

I got to visit dad in his care home today, and he’s doing OK.

After several months of medication changes, the right mix seems to have kicked in and although he’s still super confused, the anxiety has settled.

So grateful to have found an environment and kind people who can care for his complex needs.

I hope you’ve also been able to enjoy a fam day with your dad too.
