🌱🍅 From our garden to our table! 🥒💜

Jo has been doing an incredible job alongside a number of our residents, growing our very own fresh fruit and vegetables right here at Trymview Hall.

After plenty of watering, nurturing and watching everything grow, today it was finally time to start harvesting some of their fantastic work! And judging by the size of some of those courgettes, I think it’s safe to say they’ve done pretty well! 😂👏

We’ve got fresh kale, courgettes, tomatoes, chillies and plenty more coming through, all grown and picked by our residents with a little help from Jo. 🌶️🥬

There’s something really special about being able to grow something from scratch, watch it develop and then actually enjoy the end result.

Now for the important part… getting it into the kitchen and tasting it! 😋

Fantastic work everyone, and a huge well done to Jo for everything she’s put into our garden. 💜

💜 Three days, three trips and plenty of smiles! 💜

It’s been another busy few days here at Trymview Hall, with our residents out and about making the most of everything our local area has to offer.

⛪ Monday saw us heading to Bath Abbey, taking in the beautiful surroundings, stained-glass windows and incredible history. There was plenty to see, explore and talk about along the way.

🌳 Tuesday was a trip to St Andrew’s Park, giving everyone the chance to enjoy some fresh air, a change of scenery and a good catch-up together.

🌿 And today, we were back out again, this time visiting S***f Mills. A lovely walk surrounded by nature, plenty of conversation and even time to make a new four-legged friend along the way! 🐶

Sometimes it really is the simple things: getting out of the home, exploring somewhere different, enjoying the fresh air and spending time together.

Three days, three very different outings and lots of happy faces. I wonder where we’ll end up next! 💜

🌒 Eclipses, wine and fondue… just another couple of days at Trymview Hall! 🧀🍷

We’ve certainly been making the most of the last couple of days!

Yesterday, our residents and team headed out into the garden to enjoy the partial eclipse. With the sun shining, glasses of wine in hand and plenty of smiles, everyone got into the spirit of the occasion, finding some rather inventive ways to safely catch a glimpse! 😂🌒

Then today, we decided to do something a little different with our usual afternoon tea and cakes…

Cheese fondue! 🧀

Darren and the team put together a wonderful fondue with fresh bread and vegetables for dipping, and judging by the empty plates and full stomachs afterwards, I think we can safely say it went down rather well!

A huge thank you to Darren and the team for once again coming up with something a little different for our residents to enjoy. 💜

An eclipse one day, fondue the next… who knows what the next few days at Trymview Hall may bring! 👀😂

☀️ Sunshine, sea views and good company! 🌊

Our Trymview Hall residents made the most of the beautiful weather with a lovely day out in Portishead.

We enjoyed a walk along the seafront, plenty of sunshine and some fantastic views across the water. There was lots of conversation about the boats and ships passing by, with a few stories and memories shared along the way too. 🚢

Of course, no trip to the seaside would be complete without stopping for a drink, sitting back and simply watching the world go by!

Days out like these don’t have to be complicated. Sometimes good weather, a change of scenery and great company are all you need. 💜

A wonderful day enjoyed by everyone, and we’re already looking forward to our next adventure!

☀️ What a day at Trymview Hall! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today for our Big Food Festival & Summer Fair.

It was fantastic to welcome so many new faces from across the local community, alongside our wonderful residents, their families and friends. Seeing everyone come together, enjoying great food, entertainment and plenty of laughter is exactly what today was all about.

The weather couldn’t have been much better, the atmosphere was brilliant and the barbecue certainly didn’t disappoint!

A special mention has to go to our Head Chef Darren, along with Jake, Karen, Lil and Harry, who have worked tirelessly throughout the week to create an incredible Food Festival. From our Jamaican Independence celebrations yesterday through to today’s barbecue, they’ve showcased some truly fantastic culinary talent. I think it’s fair to say everyone has gone home with a smile… and a slightly happier waistline! 🍔🔥

It was also a pleasure to welcome Esther Lawton from Bath College, who spent time with us enjoying the day and meeting our residents. Esther has been working closely with Darren on some exciting future projects, and we look forward to sharing more about those in the months ahead.

A huge thank you also to It Takes Two, who once again had everyone singing, clapping and dancing throughout the afternoon. Your fantastic entertainment brought so much joy to our residents, families and visitors, and was the perfect way to round off a wonderful day. 🎤🎶

We’re also incredibly grateful to all of the local businesses who generously donated prizes for today’s raffle. Your support helped make the event even more special.

A special thank you goes to the Bristol Bears Rugby Foundation and Bristol Rovers for their fantastic prize donations. Congratulations to all of our raffle winners – we’ll be in touch shortly!

Days like today remind us what Trymview Hall is all about: bringing people together, creating meaningful memories and opening our doors to the community.

Now it’s time for us to put our feet up, watch a few hot air balloons drift across the Bristol skyline and enjoy the weekend. 🎈

🇯🇲 Celebrating Jamaican Independence Day at Trymview Hall! 🇯🇲

Today at Trymview Hall we proudly celebrated Jamaican Independence Day, marking the perfect start to our Food Festival Week.

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic day immersed in Jamaican culture, with plenty of music, singing and dancing, while also taking time to explore the rich history of one of Jamaica’s most celebrated writers, Claude McKay. Together we read and discussed some of his most famous poems, sparking wonderful conversations and memories throughout the afternoon.

A huge thank you goes to our Head Chef Darren and the kitchen team, who created an incredible authentic Jamaican menu that was enjoyed by everyone. From traditional flavours to beautifully presented dishes, it was a real celebration of Jamaican cuisine… and it’s fair to say the jerk chicken was such a hit that we’ve completely run out! 🌶️🔥

What a fantastic way to begin our Food Festival Week.

Now all eyes turn to tomorrow’s Big Food Festival & Summer Fair, where Darren will be firing up the barbecue, we’ll have live entertainment from It Takes Two, exciting raffle prizes, games for all ages and, most importantly, another opportunity to bring our residents, families and local community together.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone from 11am to 3pm. See you there! ❤️

🌦️ As we’ve finally seen a bit of rain today, we thought we’d reminisce about the last two Mondays, where our residents completed a hat-trick of trips to Weston-super-Mare to make the most of the glorious sunshine! ☀️🌊

One of the many benefits of being just 40 minutes from the coast is being able to enjoy wonderful days like these whenever the weather is on our side.

There were plenty of smiles, plenty of ice cream, a refreshing seaside breeze, and even some beautiful views across to South Wales and North Devon.

Sometimes it’s the simplest days that create the biggest smiles, and these are memories we’ll all treasure. ❤️

🏆 A huge congratulations to our Head Chef, Darren! 👨‍🍳💜

We're incredibly proud to share some exciting news...

Our fantastic Head Chef, Darren Nelson, has officially been named a Finalist in the NACC Care Chef of the Year 2026 Competition! 🎉

The competition celebrates some of the very best chefs working in the care sector across the UK, recognising not only exceptional culinary talent but also the passion, creativity and dedication that goes into every meal they prepare. To be selected as a finalist is an incredible achievement, and one that is thoroughly deserved.

Anyone who knows Darren will know that he pours his heart into everything he creates. Whether it's a beautifully presented fine dining dish, a resident's favourite comfort meal, or simply taking the time to make someone's day that little bit brighter through food, his commitment to our residents shines through every single day.

His dishes impressed the judges enough to earn him a place in the national final, which takes place in October at Loughborough College, and we couldn't be prouder.

Even better, this fantastic news comes just days before our Big Food Festival & Summer Fair on Friday 7th August! 🍔🌭

If you're joining us this Friday, you'll have the chance to enjoy one of Darren's delicious barbecues, sample some fantastic food, and help us celebrate not only an incredible event but also an incredible chef.

🍔 Just two weeks to go! ☀️

The countdown is on! With just two weeks to go until our Big Food Festival/Summer Fair, preparations are in full swing here at Trymview Hall.

Join us on Friday 7th August, from 11am to 3pm, as we open our doors to the local community for a day of fantastic food, entertainment and fun.

Our talented Head Chef Darren will be firing up the barbecue, serving up a delicious feast fresh from the grill, while our residents will be running a refreshing drinks station to help keep everyone cool throughout the day.

There’ll also be live entertainment, exciting raffle prizes and plenty of opportunities to meet our wonderful residents and team, explore the home and experience the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes Trymview Hall so special.

Whether you’re looking for a great afternoon out, fancy a delicious barbecue or would simply like to see what life at Trymview Hall is all about, we’d love to welcome you.
