📺 Did You Catch Us on TV Last Night? ☀️💧

Last night, Crossley House welcomed Channel 4 to discuss the impact that hot weather can have on older adults and the steps we're taking to help keep our residents safe, hydrated, and comfortable during periods of extreme heat.

From encouraging regular fluid intake to offering refreshing drinks, cooling treats, and adapting daily routines, our teams work hard to ensure residents stay well supported when temperatures rise. 💙

As the weather continues to warm up, hydration and heat safety remain a key focus across all of our homes. We're proud to share some of the practical ways our teams are helping residents stay cool while maintaining their wellbeing and quality of life.

🌟 Exciting Partnership Announcement! 🌟

We’re delighted to announce that AbleCare Homes has partnered with the The King's Trust!

Formerly known as The Prince’s Trust, The King's Trust helps young people develop skills, gain confidence, and access opportunities to support them into employment, education, and training. Through programmes, mentoring, and practical support, the charity empowers thousands of young people each year to build brighter futures. 💙

At AbleCare Homes, we are incredibly passionate about encouraging the next generation into the health and social care sector. We know that the future of care depends on attracting talented, compassionate individuals, and we’re excited to work alongside The King's Trust to help inspire and support young people as they begin their careers.

This week Ablecare Homes residents did a variety of activities which had them learning about history, and relaxing in this lovely weather ☀️

A quiz about British history to retro sweets and music was taken by residents at Crossley House. This had them jogging their brains! Afterwards, Shelby and his owner Andy came to visit the residents which they were very happy to spend time with 🐶

Hengrove Lodge took part in Mental Health Awareness Day as residents wore green and shared what keeps their mental health positive. Staff got involved and shared some hidden secrets to keeping themselves positive too 🤫 Singing, dancing and talking took place to keep those good vibes and positive thoughts pumping! 💚

Our lovely ladies at Patron House enjoyed some wonderful pampering today with relaxing hair massages and beautiful new hairstyles, all thanks to our caring team! 🩵

Then at Belvedere Lodge, our residents enjoyed a peaceful arts and crafts day by knitting! A relaxing activity enjoyed by all 🧶

Frenchay House had a relaxing afternoon with chilled drinks, laughter and great company while keeping cool during the warm weather ☀️🥤

Ablecare Homes takes on Mexico Day! 🇲🇽

Our residents enjoyed a vibrant Mexican-themed day filled with music, colouring, games, dancing, and delicious food. From sombreros and piñatas to learning about Mexican culture, it was a fun and colourful day full of smiles and laughter 🇲🇽🎉
