What a magical musical afternoon at Collingwood Care Home!

We were absolutely delighted to welcome the lovely Naomi, who treated our residents to a wonderful performance filled with her beautiful voice and a fantastic range of songs.

It was a truly interactive experience, with Naomi taking special requests from the audience - then singing in duet with the requester. 🎤🎵⭐️

We enjoyed a trip down memory lane with a playlist dedicated to classic songs from the movies. We danced and sang along to favourites like Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5, Moon River by Audrey Hepburn, and Bing Crosby’s Singing in the Rain. 🎬

Thank you, Naomi, for bringing so much joy, laughter, and music into our home! 💜

We’ve had a fun filled afternoon with quizzes and fun and games!

We started with a September themed quiz with a musical round. In between, we reminisced about lifetime news, the cars we’ve owned and favourite song genres.

We completed a wordsearch using all the quiz answers to finish.

After, we played an energetic game with egg boxes and ping pong balls which sparked much laughter! 😂

We then had some catching practice with the beach ball until it got a bit over energetic so we swapped for a more sensible target practice!

Laughter is definitely the best medicine!

The end of last week saw a flurry of fun for the mind and body at Collingwood.

Chair exercises stretched our body whilst a game of dominoes exercised our grey cells!

A mindful watercolour activity soothed and calmed as did a ‘singing for the mind’ session with Natalie on keyboards.

Add to that some animal therapy provided by Meg the dog and spending time chatting with friends.

Another jam packed end to the week with something for everyone.

This afternoon, we tried our hands at fruit tart design!

We filled pastry cases with custard and then decorated with strawberries, blueberries and mixed fruit. 🍓🫐🍒

We all encouraged one another and had a wonderful conversation as the afternoon progressed.

A simple activity that brought good company, much fun and tasty, decorative fruit tarts!
