The summer and this heat can be very isolating for some people.

" Cannot recommend highly enough!! Before, I even get to how glowingly wild and wonderful our wedding flowers were. I'd have to explain. I just loved everything about the whole experience. The shop is magic, like walking off of diagon alley. The aroma of incense and floral scents hits you. It’s full to the rafters with quirky unique vases, vintage china, and furnishings. Not to mention the wonderful Holly the dog and ceo.

So many businesses like this now a days, especially wedding related ones, your first impressions might be through social media and frankly can be full of fakeness. There is nothing fake about Vera & Alice. Vera wants to create one of a kind service for you. Get to know you and what you picture, even if your ideas are not fully formed. She understood all my random screen shots and the least technical scribbles! Until all of our wedding florals, including hanging statements, lampshades, bridesmaid fresh floral hair combs, bouquets and button holes to boot! - Were everything I hoped for and so much more! Memories to last a lifetime hopefully because all are currently pressing and drying in silicone on our dining table with major summer craft projects in mind. I will be back to visit and forever glad we chose Florigraphy "

I'm going to see Nick Cave that will help.
Wedding florals to do, too.

WOMAD sunflower fields. Moody sky. Some distance from any crowds.

Busy shop with thank yous for teachers and other feels. Celebration of life.

Two weddings, one beginning and one end ( more photos of each wedding to come) . Lush. And both so different to each other. And I've learned new things.

A thyroid scan and then today radioactive iodine treatment. And then, this weekend, WOMAD done differently because of the treatment.

I'm like all the feels in one fat Roly poly pie.

I find comfort when it all nearly breaks me. I feel it. Get overwhelmed. Wallow and rejoice in it, then feel the slow rebuild. It's a feeling. Deep feeling is how I live my best life. Sailing in steady seas. Nah. I like some waves and some stuck at sea along the way.

Too much plain sailing doesn't make for living, loving, and growing. That's what I think.

I have graves. I had radioactive iodine trestment . Lots of information online. Care or simply nosey, you can have a Google. I'll be just fine. No big thing, just got to get it under control.

It does mean that for a few things, I got to stay a meter away and not spend lots of time with different people. Will let you know. Again, you can look online.

Bit less consistent in the shop this week . Sorry. With all the things, I just needed a bit of time here and there.
WOMAD this weekend, so only open half day tomorrow.
Get orders in for next week.

Thank you for making 12 years possible. When we arrived in Totterdown, it was a different shape. It was full of heart, which is why i wanted to be here, but not so much existed. That which did was special.

I remember members of the community saying, "we'd love you to be here, but we are worried you won't survive."
We did it any way with a belief that a community could be formed around flowers. And well, if we couldn't we'd have to think again. We didn't come with an idea of making our millions, I think we thought we could make a bit more, but I'm bad at that.

And we have had all kinds of ups and downs along the journey. Got burnt at the hands of others more than once, covid, unstable prices, and markets.
But we have made so many friends, shown resilience, spread the flower love around Totterdown and further afield, given and received so much love. Most importantly, we have been part of a community, and hopefully, we are seen as giving to the community. We will continue to give. We will continue to give love.

I can not thank you enough, each and every one of you. Please spread the word to those not on social media. You have helped create a journey of beauty, of light and dark, and everything in between, which is just what we set out to do.

And thank you to all those. Who volunteer their time to make floriography what it is. If I could, I'd pay you all, but I hope you get the love from it. I'm going to talk about you all in the newsletter soon.

People say 'you shouldn't talk about politics with friends'. It's been difficult to talk to anyone about politics lately.
This speech has made me want to talk about politics. I have new hope. I'm not blinded but I see a little sun amongst the political clouds. And that's heat I don't mind so much.

Andy Burnham spoke outside Downing Street after he replaced Keir Starmer as prime minister and leader of the Labour party.
