๐Ÿ‘ป Have you heard of a "ghost patient"?

A ghost patient is someone who is still registered with a GP practice even though they've moved away or are no longer an active patient.

To help keep GP records accurate, NHS England and Primary Care Support England (PCSE) regularly carry out a process called list validation (sometimes known as list cleansing).

๐Ÿ“‹ What does this mean for you?

You may receive a letter, text or other message asking you to confirm your details.

Keeping patient records up to date helps to ensure:
๐Ÿฉบ You stay registered with your GP and can access care when you need it.
๐Ÿ’Œ You receive important invitations for screenings, vaccinations and other NHS services.
๐Ÿ’ท GP practices receive the correct funding to provide care for the patients they look after.

This is why it is extremely important to keep your contact details up to date with your GP practice. If your address, phone number or other details change, please let us know as soon as possible so we can contact you when needed and help ensure your registration remains accurate.

โœ… If you receive a message, please don't ignore it!

Simply:
โœ”๏ธ Follow the instructions provided.
โœ”๏ธ Confirm your details are correct.
โœ”๏ธ Respond before the deadline stated in the letter or message (deadlines may vary depending on how you're contacted).

โš ๏ธ What happens if you don't respond?

If PCSE cannot confirm your details, you could be removed from your GP practice list without even realising it.

If this happens, you'll need to re-register with your GP practice before you can book appointments or access routine GP services.

๐Ÿ“ข Please help spread the word! If you have friends or family who are registered with our practice but haven't been in touch with us for the last few years, encourage them to check their details are correct on the NHS app and respond to any correspondence from NHS England or PCSE.

NHS staff from Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire attended a special reception at 10 Downing Street to celebrate the NHSโ€™s 78th birthday. The reception was held to recognise the dedication and achievements of those who have gone above and beyond to deliver outstanding care for patients and support their colleagues and communities.

One of our practice Pharmacists Lisa was honoured to be invited to attend as she was recognised for her dedication and work in spearheading independent prescribing and supporting BNSSG to be one of the highest performing systems in the country for take-up of Pharmacy First.

Well done Lisa! ๐Ÿฅณ

โš ๏ธ An amber heat-health alert is in place for our area from Wednesday 8 July until Sunday 12 July.

This means there is an increased risk to health from the heat for everyone, particularly vulnerable people, including babies and young children, older adults, and people with long-term health conditions.

Please follow the health advice to stay safe during the hot weather. In particular, check on vulnerable friends, neighbours, and relatives who may need extra support.

Stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day where possible, keep hydrated, and look out for others.

Follow the link in the comments for more guidance on how to stay safe during hot weather.
