🎉🎂 Happy 102nd Birthday, Pauline! 🎂🎉

Today we are celebrating an incredible lady, Pauline, who turns 102 years young!

That's an amazing 37,230 days of memories, adventures, laughter, family, friendship, and experiences. 💖

To mark her birthday week, Pauline chose to revisit one of her favourite places, Clevedon. Accompanied by Carla, she enjoyed a lovely trip along the promenade, taking in the beautiful views that she hadn't seen for many years. Of course, no seaside visit would be complete without a portion of chips followed by an ice cream, which Pauline thoroughly enjoyed while sitting and chatting in the sunshine. 🍟🍦☀️

Pauline's grandson Ashley was delighted to hear about the visit, commenting that Clevedon has always been one of Pauline's favourite places and somewhere she hadn't visited for years.

Her daughter Lesley shared some wonderful memories too:

"Mum and I used to love regular shopping trips, especially clothes shopping and visits to garden centres, as well as holidays, theatre trips, weekends away and adventures across the UK and abroad. She's also enjoyed so many wonderful experiences with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing lots of fun and interests with them over the years."

The special friendship and rapport Pauline shares with Carla has brought joy not only to Pauline, but also to her family, who are delighted to see her continuing to enjoy the things that have always meant so much to her. That's just what we do!

Please join us in wishing Pauline a very happy 102nd birthday. What an extraordinary achievement, and what a privilege it is to celebrate such a remarkable life. ❤️

As the Owner has come to discover recently, it is very easy to under-estimate the importance of a post-surgery, or other hospital treatment discharge, back home and follow-up help after, perhaps, an extended period, relatively immobilised in a hospital bed.

For others, as we age, from as little as 30 years old, we lose muscle and therefore strength simply as a result of growing older.

For those in later life this can significantly increase the risk of falls, and falls in the elderly are generally very bad news (as I have seen with my 89-year-old Mum, following a hip fracture), leading to even greater lack of confidence and less mobility, if remedial action is not taken to optimise the recovery.

So we are really delighted to discover and recommend in-home Physios and Occupational Therapists at both Severn Physiotherapy and also Bristol Home Therapists, both within our area, the former in Portishead and the latter in Nailsea.

As a homecare provider we are extremely responsive at supporting a return home, from hospital, or via a care home as intermediary rehabilitation and can ensure a seamless transition and can then support with anything around the home and personal care, as needed.

However, what we don't have, and why we partner with experts in their field, is these specialist physio and OT skills which promote recovery and counter muscle wastage. So discovering, like us, that you can also have this support in your own home, enabling you to stay there for many years to come, is a revelation!

Over the bridges, at Home Instead Bristol North, under the same ownership as this office, we've just been awarded a place in the Top 20 care providers, right across the South-West of England, as voted for by the numerous clients and client family members who leave reviews about us on homecare.co.uk, the 'Tripadvisor of homecare'.

This is the 5th time we've picked up this much-valued and hard-won award, and now two years in a row.

We only re-opened this office at the start of this year, taking on our first care staff in February and first clients in March, and our growth so far has exceeded all our ambitious expectations.
