A huge thank you to Chris for another fabulous afternoon of entertainment here at Edgemont House! 🎶❤️

Chris has been singing for our residents for a long time and has become such a special part of life at the home. He truly understands our residents – he knows them, knows the songs they love, and always creates a wonderful atmosphere filled with smiles, singing, and happy memories.

Our residents may not always remember Chris’s name, but when they ask, “When is that singing man coming back?” we all know exactly who they’re talking about! 😊

Thank you, Chris, for your kindness, dedication, and the joy you bring to our residents every time you visit. It’s always a pleasure to welcome you to Edgemont House, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Do you take pride in creating a clean, welcoming environment? We are looking for a friendly and reliable Housekeeper to join our team at Edgemont House.

🧹 Housekeeping duties including cleaning residents’ rooms and communal areas
🏡 Supporting a comfortable and homely environment for our residents
🤝 Working as part of a friendly and supportive team
📚 Full training provided

We are looking for someone who is hardworking, dependable, and has a positive attitude. Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is helpful but not essential.

📍 Location: 20 West Street, Oldland Common, Bristol, BS30 9QS
⏰ Hours: Part-time
💷 Pay: Will be discussed

🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ Superhero Day at our Home! 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

Today our residents had a fantastic time creating their very own superheroes, complete with unique powers, names, and inspiring stories. The creativity, imagination, and laughter shared throughout the day made it a truly special activity.

While we celebrated the superheroes our residents created, we also recognised that the real superheroes are right here with us every day. Our residents show incredible strength, resilience, kindness, and determination, and they inspire us daily with their courage and spirit.

A huge thank you also goes to our amazing staff team, whose dedication, compassion, and hard work help support our residents every single day. Their commitment to providing outstanding care makes a real difference and does not go unnoticed.

Today reminded us that superheroes don’t always wear capes – sometimes they are the people around us who brighten our days, overcome challenges, and support others with kindness and care.

🧀 Yesterday we celebrated National Cheese Day with a fun-filled activity afternoon!

Our residents enjoyed exploring a variety of different cheeses, testing their knowledge in a cheese-themed quiz, and taking part in a lively “Guess the Cheese” game. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and great conversations as everyone shared their favourites and discovered some new varieties.

It was wonderful to see so many residents getting involved and enjoying the activities together. A fantastic afternoon was had by all! 🧀😊

Our residents have been making the most of the beautiful 30°C sunshine the last couple of days ☀️😎

There’s been plenty of laughter and smiles with paddling pool fun, refreshing ice pops, and relaxing word searches in the shade 🍦💦📚

It’s lovely to see everyone enjoying the warm weather safely, staying cool, and spending quality time together. Summer days like these create such special memories ❤️

Our residents had a lovely day out today at the Bristol Zoo Project 🦒🐒🌿

There were lots of smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories made while exploring all the amazing animals and beautiful surroundings. Days like these are so important and everyone had such a fantastic time.

This week at Edgemont House we celebrated Eat What You Want Day and Cocktail Day! 🍔🍰🍹

Our residents enjoyed choosing some of their favourite foods to eat, making the day extra special and personal to them. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, laughs, cuddles, and the true friendships shared between everyone here at Edgemont House ❤️

The fun continued as our residents got creative making their own mocktails — and they definitely went down a treat! 🍓🍍✨

Days like these are what make Edgemont House such a warm and happy home. 😊

Happy World Earth Day 🌍💚

To celebrate, some of our residents got creative by making bird feeders to hang in the garden, helping to look after our local wildlife 🐦

We also found some old plant pots that needed a little TLC, so they were painted and brought back to life with lots of colour. They’re now helping to make our garden look bright and cheerful, ready for the summer ahead 🌸☀️

Some of our lovely residents got involved in creating their own unique tree designs, adding a personal touch. It’s been wonderful to see everyone’s design.
