There’s some pretty interesting research around connection and longevity. People with stronger social relationships tend to live longer. People who feel isolated tend to have poorer health outcomes.
Which makes sense really. We’re social creatures. We need people. And yet, somewhere along the way, actually talking to each other seems to have become quite difficult.
The sauna has a funny way of changing that.
Maybe it’s the fact that everyone’s sweating. Maybe it’s because there’s nowhere to hide behind your phone.
Maybe it’s just sitting next to someone for 15 minutes with nothing else to do.
You end up talking. Because, maybe that’s the secret ingredient in sauna and it’s been sitting there all along.
Connection.
