🎉 Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary to Mike and Linda!🍾🍰

This afternoon, we had the absolute joy of celebrating a truly incredible milestone with a fantastic couple.

We raised plenty of glasses, enjoyed some delicious cake, and put our brains to the test with fun quizzes on famous couples and memories from 1966! It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, great stories, and plenty of cheer.

Thank you so much, Mike and Linda, for choosing to spend your special day with all of us here. Congratulations on 60 amazing years together! 🥂❤️

This morning, we came together to watch a documentary about the Battle of Britain, learning more about this important chapter in our history.

The Battle of Britain took place during the summer and autumn of 1940, when the Royal Air Force (RAF) fought to defend Britain against the German Luftwaffe. The battle was fought largely in the skies, with pilots showing great courage and determination as they defended the country during a time of great uncertainty.

❤️ It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who served, and to remember the many people whose lives were affected by the events of the war. 🌺

🇨🇱✈️ This afternoon, we took a trip to Chile… all from the comfort of our armchairs! 🌎

Our Chilean adventure began with a delicious themed lunch, lovingly prepared by our fantastic kitchen team. 🍽️

After lunch, we explored the beautiful country of Chile through videos, taking in some of its stunning landscapes and discovering some of the wonderful places there are to visit. 🏔️🌊

We then put our knowledge to the test with a fun True or False quiz before finishing our afternoon by watching a video of some traditional Chilean dancing. 💃🎶

It was a lovely afternoon full of food, culture, music and lots of fun! ❤️

A big thank you to our kitchen team for helping us start our Chilean adventure with such a tasty lunch! 🇨🇱😊

This morning, we were delighted to welcome the Baptist Church for a lovely service. 🙏💒

Our residents really enjoyed coming together to share prayers and hymns, creating such a warm and uplifting atmosphere. 🎶❤️

What an excellent turnout today — it was wonderful to see so many people joining us and sharing this special time together.

​This afternoon, our brilliant residents at Silver Trees put their thinking caps on for a lively general knowledge quiz! 🎬🌍🔬

​We tested our trivia skills with questions spanning news, classic cinema, science, and world geography. There was plenty of friendly competition, and some fantastic teamwork. A brilliant way to keep our minds sharp and active! 🌟👏

Morning Gentle Exercise at Silver Trees! 🧘‍♂️✨

​This morning, our wonderful residents at Silver Trees joined in for our usual gentle seated exercise session! 💪🏽

It was fantastic to see everyone stretching, moving, and having a laugh together to start the day on a positive, active note.

​Staying active while keeping comfortable is so important for mobility and well-being. A huge well done to everyone who took part! 🌟🎉

This afternoon, we had a brilliant visit from the lovely Nicola, who treated us to an afternoon of music. ❤️

Nicola sang absolutely beautifully, and our residents loved joining in and singing along to some of their favourite songs. She was also happy to take requests, making sure we heard all the songs we love! 🎤🎵

There were lots of smiles, laughter and plenty of singing — a lovely afternoon enjoyed by everyone. 🥰

A huge thank you to Nicola for coming to entertain us and making our afternoon so special. We can’t wait to have you back! ❤️🎶

This morning, our residents got busy making some delicious cookies for us all to enjoy this afternoon 😋

Activities like baking are about so much more than making something tasty. They give our residents the opportunity to maintain their independence, practise everyday life skills and continue doing things they have enjoyed throughout their lives.

It’s so important that life in a care home continues to feel like living, with opportunities to do familiar, meaningful things and keep those skills going.

And the best part? We get to enjoy the cookies together this afternoon! 🍪☕❤️
