Monica Wills House hosted a charity party to mark the end of summer on Saturday, in support of MND Association, a cause that is very close to our hearts.

We was a memorable celebration filled with fun, food and disco dancing! Residents, their guests and staff turned out in force and, as always, showed incredible support.

Thanks to everyone's enthusiasm and generosity, an amazing £678.50 was raised for charity.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who contributed, those who attended, donated, and helped make the event such a wonderful success! 🎉👏

🌱🌸 Thank you to our fabulous garden team who took time today with a special tour of the different gardens and grounds at Cote Lane retirement village. You gave us such a warm welcome, sharing your expertise and knowledge of gardens, horticulture and the benefits of nature for our village communities.

It was great to hear people's stories of volunteering, projects and history of some of our wonderful protected 🌳 trees. We got some inspired ideas for our future gardens, followed by a lunch together in Cote Café. Thank you again.

🌱 This week we started with a "green fingered" theme, following a gardens meeting we planted more seeds in our Activity Rooms.

🌱 Some flowering plants and some edible herbs plants, providing us hopefully with late summer options around the village. 🌻🌸🥗

On Monday, some of our residents took a trip out to Westonbirt Arboretum - Forestry England to soak up the summer sun in one of the most treasured locations, containing scientific collections of diverse tree and shrub species. 🌳🌲

Monica Wills House residents, friends and families all came together for a Balloon Fiesta Party to remember. 🎈

Our fantastic catering team served up burgers and hot dogs from the BBQ, and Andy Treble kept everyone entertained with some brilliant singing. Residents got creative making their own flower centrepieces to decorate the tables, and we hosted a raffle in aid of the RSPCA, raising a fantastic £101.

The night finished on the roof, watching hot air balloons drift across Bristol. It was truly a spectacular sight.

Resident Stephanie, who joined the celebrations, said: “Brilliant evening, well catered for, lovely food, well organised by Laura and just a brilliant get together for all the people that could come.”

A huge thank you to everyone who made it happen. ❤️

A happy 🌻 sunflower!

This lovely photo was taken by a member of care staff who helped out at our "plant a seed" session earlier this spring.

We had lots to share in communal area's, some seedlings later were sold raising money at our Summer Fayre and some went home with residents and staff.
