My next Reiki Masters course. This is a wonderful course, connecting you to your true self. We will be focusing on and exploring our shadow self.

Shadow work is hugely transformative and connects us to those parts of ourselves that perhaps we feel we aren’t comfortable in accepting or showing to others.

By connecting and accepting our whole being, we are able to be more authentic and this in turn gives us greater confidence and awareness in our everyday lives.

Through creative exploration, shadow work activities, journaling and Reiki activities, this course will give you a greater understanding of your self and what triggers you on a daily basis and why that happens.

Payment plans are available. This course is being held in Wrington at Breathing Space. To book on, please contact us for more details.

From September, grief, loss and bereavement education will be added to the UK school curriculum.

An estimated 46,000 children (0-17) experience the death of a parent every year in the UK, and by the age of 16 most young people have experienced the death of someone close to them.

This can have a significant impact on a child's emotional wellbeing and can increase their risk of developing mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, self-harm, post-traumatic stress symptoms and behavioural difficulties.

Yet, according to a survey by Child Bereavement UK, only 10% of teachers have received bereavement training.

💫 On Thursday 2nd July, 9am-10am, Child Bereavement UK are running a webinar for educational professionals working in primary, secondary and college settings and anyone responsible for curriculum development. The aim is to highlight the importance of grief education for all pupils and to empower staff to talk about loss, death and grief. They will explore the revised statutory guidance on RHSE education including how to answer difficult questions and access resources to help embed these: https://lnkd.in/eNZBX9rU

The following links maybe also be useful for anyone supporting a bereaved child:

Wishing all my wonderful clients a magical Christmas. There hasn’t been much Breathing Space here at Breathing Space over the last seven months as we have been doing some major renovation work to our house. We are now happily moved back in with a new exciting space being created for workshops, treatments and circles in 2026. There is still a lot to do but we are so looking forward to sharing our plans with you all. Hope you all manage to have a restful Christmas. See you in 2026 ###

Life in a Coastal Town: New exhibition exploring mental health and community through art

How does it feel to live in Weston-super-Mare when you are struggling with your mental health? What resources exist in the local community – and what barriers are there to accessing them?

In March of this year, I was asked to lead a series of workshops for an exhibition, ‘Life in a Coastal Town: A creative exploration of community and belonging’, which is part of the Coastal Community & Creative Health project. Led by the Universities of Bristol and Liverpool, the event is funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Arts and Humanities Research Council.
The exhibition shares original artwork by people living in Weston-super-Mare, exploring their experiences during some of life’s toughest times. Young refugees, people in recovery from substance use, and bereaved people worked with three artists (Myself, Niki Groom and Bev G Star) to explore their use of local community services and resources, barriers to access and gaps in support. The result is a powerful and insightful exhibition, telling stories of identity, resilience, hope and belonging that are rarely heard.

This new free exhibition is coming to Weston Museum from Tuesday 8 to Thursday 17 July explores these questions through the creative storytelling of people who often feel excluded. If you’re in Weston over the next couple of weeks, do pop in and have a look. It has been an honour to be a part of it all.
