This is Carla, whose late mum initially opted for a direct cremation with a company often seen on TV. Carla talks movingly about the distress she experienced during the removal of her mum from her place of death, and the deep sense of isolation caused by not having a gathering.

Thankfully, Carla was able to intervene and bring her mum into the care of a local funeral director, who ensured the family could say goodbye in a meaningful way that brought them the closure they needed.
