Every pregnancy is so different but it can often be so tough mentally and physically and especially in those early weeks and months.

I tried many different flavoured waters, I constantly wore a nose clip around the house, I ate a lot of oven chips & rested as much as possible, relying on a lot of TV for my eldest. Do what you need to do and know that your body is doing a huge job right now, go gently.

My ambition for The Early Pregnancy Group is to become a space for you to feel supported & nurtured. I don’t want you to feel alone if you’re struggling or even if you just want to connect with others at this time. I’m here for you.

Visit the link in my bio to book your space or you can drop me a message.

I don't know about you, but my sleep in the first trimester really changed. I was desperate to get a good chunk of sleep but my body and the surge in hormones had other ideas!

One thing that really comforted me was the sound of…an owl! Honestly you might be thinking, wtf? But I’d hear it each night I lay there wide awake feeling nauseous and it gave me so much comfort, like it was a little reassurance I wasn’t alone. I was really thankful and you know what, I’ve never heard it again since! So thank you owl!

Have you experienced any sleep insomnia? Have you found anything that helps or offers some comfort? Do share below 😀👍🏻

I’m sure we’ll talk about all sorts of early pregnancy topics in my Early Pregnancy Group tomorrow. There will be no judgement, just support, comfort and connection. You can book your space now. It starts tomorrow Thursday 6th July at 10am at Chantry Studios, Bromley.

This was me at 4am most mornings in early pregnancy, eating a bowl of coco pops! It was the only thing I could stomach for most of my first trimester! Initially it was cream crackers in the middle of the night but in the end, they just didn't cut it!

Here are my top tips on how to navigate what can be a really challenging time:

1️⃣ Listen to your body: Pay attention to what it's telling you. If certain foods make you feel nauseous, try alternatives that are more appealing and don’t be too hard on yourself.

2️⃣ Small, frequent meals: Rather than forcing yourself to have large meals, opt for smaller, more frequent snacks throughout the day. It can be easier on your stomach and help ensure you're getting the nourishment you need.

3️⃣ Embrace the basics: Focus on simple, easily digestible foods that provide nutrients without overwhelming your senses.

4️⃣ Stay hydrated: Sip on water or herbal teas throughout the day to stay hydrated, whatever you can stomach.

5️⃣ Seek support: Reach out to other pregnant mums or join communities where you can share your experiences, ask questions, and find comfort in knowing you're not alone. Sometimes, a listening ear and understanding words can make a world of difference.

Be gentle with yourself and try to rest whenever you can. If you have concerns about your nutrition or find that you're unable to keep food down, reach out to your healthcare provider.

Share your experiences and tips below. What helped or helps you in this tricky and tiring time?

Come and join my Early Pregnancy Group on Thursday 6th July at 10am at Chantry Studios, Bromley. Book your space in the link in my bio.

The room is booked and I’m so blooming ready to start holding this space for pregnant people.

It’s my absolute mission to support and nurture as many pregnant women as possible and it’s never too early to start that. I’m building up a full nurturing circle of offerings and this has been bubbling away in the background. So let’s go!

I’m trying it out face to face during the week and I’m more than happy to try out early evenings too. I’m determined to be your support 👍🏻 Book your spot by clicking on the link in my bio.

I will initially limit the group to just 10 people to ensure everyone has the opportunity to talk if they'd like to. I'll be there to listen and support, with the aim of finishing each session with a nice relaxation script. I can also offer some Hypnobirthing tips to help you get through any difficult moments.

Remember, you never know who might be pregnant and needing some comfort and support. So do please share this far and wide, I want to reach as many people as I can.

If you have any questions at all, just drop me a message.

But I want you to understand that by asking the right questions, you will gain more confidence and retain that control that we all long for. It’s not about saying no to everything that could be offered but it’s about fully understanding the benefits, risks & alternatives so you can make YOUR INFORMED DECISIONS.

Let me help you increase your knowledge and prepare for birth. You will leave feeling excited and confident!

Come and join my next group course on 15th & 29th July 9am-1pm in Bromley.

In pregnancy, as well as growing another human, your body grows another organ too. I mean how bloody amazing is that? The placenta is connected to your baby by the umbilical cord. This post explains the importance of waiting until the cord turns white once your baby is born. It was common practice to cut the cord immediately after birth but there is now plenty of evidence supporting the delay in cord clamping. If this is something you want to ensure happens, be sure to pop this on your birth preferences so your caregivers know this too.

has listed even more evidence to the benefits of delayed clamping that you can read. Head on over to her page & website.

Learning about birth & understanding your choices is so incredibly important. Get in touch now to book either a spot on my next group course or a private 1:1.

Thank you to each and every midwife who continues to be ‘with woman’. Who continues to trust women and their capabilities and to know when to sit back and observe birth unfold beautifully. I am lucky to know many of these incredible women. Day in and day out they push the boundaries set and make a true difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are amazing.
